Moved from competitive to General since I'm not competing in anything.

Started long ago here. Most recent log is here. The rest are linked to each other if you care to look. 36 years old, just under 6'.

Continuous logs for about 5+ years now. Did a strongman contest and a Tough Mudder this year. Thinking about gymnastics or tumbling next.

The Scotch & Cigar Thread is here, and could use some additions-I need new things to try.

    9/8
    BW=201

    dynamic stretch

    Power Clean, Front Squat x 2, Press x 2
    bar x some
    95 x 2
    115 x 1
    135 x 1
    165 x 1

PC, FS x 2, Push Press
    195 x 1 x 8

    9/12

Haven't squatted in over a month? Why start slow?

    dynamic stretch

    Squat

    135 x 5
    185 x 3
    225 x 2

225 x 20 <--not as bad as I thought it would be. Still brutal.

    Pullups
    8 crazy strict

And after a set of 20 squats, that is plenty for today.

Sick and suffering insomnia lately, also losing weight at a crazy clip from not eating. I don't know why. Whatever, work out sick!

    BW=193 (that's 8 pounds lost in 14 days. Yikes)

    dynamic stretch

    Power Clean/Front Squat/Push Press
    bar x some
    95 x some
    135 x 1
    155 x 1
    185 x 1 x 8

    Deadlift
    275 x 2
    325 x 2

And that's it. Ever since hurt my back a couple years ago deadlifting, whenever I get above about #350 I start feeling it in that spot. I can now squat more than I deadlift (at least without injury) which is frustrating. Doubting if it's going to ever get better. Oh well, I've pulled #500, no need.

If working out intermittently for the minimum is a template, I'm on one. Come to think of it, that's probably the most common template of all!

Usually PC/FS/Press, sometimes Squat or run a couple miles is my holding pattern workout 1.5 days a week.

I did strongman, I did endurance (Tough Mudder) so I'm thinking agility and body control. I'm thinking I'll sign up for adult gymnastics. I'd like to be able to do a standing backflip and a roundoff.

So when you are picking your kid up from gymnastics and see some old dork there, keep it to yourself--I'm stronger than you!

I want to start doing some basic gyminastic stuff, but first I want to get stronger with a barbell. I'm pretty weak. . .

As I have been threatening to for awhile, I did my first Adult Gymnastics class.

It was fun, hurt my wrist doing assisted backflips, but I had just hurt it cleaning yesterday, so not surprising.

We did all kinds of cartwheels and jumping backwards onto mats.

I really liked the rings, although swinging is clearly an art. I was able to do two completely legit back levers for 3-4 seconds each, which was cool.

I think I will go back, likely in a week, I expect all kinds of strange sore tomorrow and Friday.
