Hey Jerry, a belated happy birthday, and thanks for the welcome back. I've suffered a few dings over the past year, but my training so far is looking really good going into the new year. I hope that overall, things are going well for you. My Mom and I have been having a tough time over the last couple months, dealing with the steady deterioration of her older sister. She turned 87 today, but is in the hospital for the third or fourth time in recent weeks. At this point, we don't expect it will be long.
I've been keeping track of your log also since my return, and am glad to see you hanging in there. I turn 65 next Tuesday, but I've been fortunate that I've been able to maintain pretty well, and am even making some gratifying progress recently. I've been following a H-L-M format based along Bill Starr's guidelines, and it's really been working well for me. Happy New Year Jerry!

I gave my trap bar away for a while, after reading your thread I'm glad I got it back! Strong work!

I sure know it goes when people we care for start declining. My aunt that I had been taking care of for the past 9 years passed away a year ago. She had been living in a retirement home near me and was doing fine. Then about 5 months before she passed I noticed some mental changes. Then in Nov. she fell, from then on it happened every few weeks.Never broke anything but each time recovery took longer. Then she refused to eat and that was it.
All in all I'm OK, a little stiffer but that's it.

I don't understand all the hate for the trap bar on SS. I know its not the same mechanicly as the straight bar DL,but still works legs back and grip. I using now as it saves me time,I leave it loaded and ready to use.

I like the trap bar for heavy farmer's walks, and if you flip it handles-down you get the same range of lift off the floor

Not comfortable with the trap bar, same with a swiss bar too.

Just feels unstable in my hands.
