I have never done pin presses but starting on those pins from a dead stop sounds like it would be harder to me Jerry so take that into consideration.

Keep putting in the good work!

Thanks Fred, they are supposed to be harder, no stress reflex. I did all the reps from a dead stop.Just trying different things to keep me motivated.

    Jerry,
If I may chime in. I train fasted @ 6:30 am. I mix EAA's (essential amino acids) and creatine in a 16 ounce bottle. I drink half of it while i am warming up. Then sip the rest during training. There is more than enough glucose in my blood from the day before's eating to sustain me.
If I may say so. I train very hard and training fasted for 8 hours doesn't limit me. I've been training this way for years.

Everyone is different and I am not suggesting anything. My point is you may want to experiment with what food to consume and how long before you train.

Thanks for your input Lou. I have used creatine, and may give another shot. I also use beta alaline, seemed to help.

    Safety Bar sqt. bar/8 75/5 95/3
    135/5 5 5 with belt
Farmers walk 78lb each 220ft one trip.
Now I have to decide to just keep sqt weight the same, or try and add a rep where I can, or add 5 lbs ?

Jerry do you have any smaller weights than 2-1/2 pounds? I made a couple one pound plates so I could move up either 2 or 3 pounds at a time. I have made consistent progress at times using them. I never heard of doing that until I got on this site.

Yes I do Fred. I have 1½ and 1¼ lb plates plus smaller magnetic plates. I have used them both on presses but never on sqts or deadlifts. Sounds like something worth trying.

    Tuesday 3/21/23
    Nautilus chest press and pulldown
    Chest press 60/8 8 8
    Pulldown 60/12 12 15 done as superset.
I wanted to use 65 but had a plate math error. Maybe that was better because I dought I would have gotten any more. Next time I'll try 61¼.
