As I have mentioned, over the past 6+ months my deadlift has gone to hell. The only thing I can think is that I have been over training it and compromised my recovery. A 5/3/1 type ramp up and then backoff set may just be too much. For instance a 5/3/1 with the top weight of 315 would be 5x245, 5x280, 5x315, 5x280. I had gotten as high as 5x345 and 1x385 about 7 months ago before everything went to hell. So, I have started using the official SS form and deloaded. I am also minimizing my warmup sets and doing one backoff set of top -10%. As I am going to the Los Angeles seminar in about 5 weeks, I am sure I will definitely find out about it if my form has any issues.

I'd have to highbar squat it tho . . .and do a strict no-hip-thrust-SS type press . . . . and a beltless-low-hip-start-deadlift . . . .

I was doing great on the low hip start deadlift until about 6 months ago. Then everything just sort of fell apart. That's why I'm trying it the official way now. I'll see how that goes.

Didn't sleep well last night. Got up at 12:30 to go to the bathroom and stepped on a scorpion. Foot in pain, calf numb and tingling. Just the toes and top of foot behind the toes tingling now.

* Was going for 5x320 and wussed out. I think it was a moment of mental weakness because right after I set the bar down I thought, "I could have made that."
