The last couple months have been very tough, between my dad going rapidly downhill and helping take care of him, to his passing just about three weeks ago. My five siblings and I spent a lot of time with my mom, helping organize my dad's things and trying to make things easier on her. My dad was a month shy of 88 when he passed, and they'd been married for 69 years.
I returned to Vermont a couple days ago, and had a freak accident while unloading my car. I hit my head on the top of the car door, which sent a jolt down my spine, right into my right sacrum and hip. I did the best I could with my workout this morning but the hip is painful, with pain all down my right leg... I'm definitely seeing the chiropractor tomorrow.

Sorry to hear this. I hope it's not too serious.

Thanks Jerry, but as of today, my low back and hip are still giving me trouble... even after seeing the chiropractor twice this week. On top of this, I made a radical change in my diet this week. After much research and watching a lot of videos, I decided to try the carnivore diet. It's only been three days, but I feel less bloated without the carbs, have lost just a couple pounds and my waist is down a half inch. I haven't adjusted to the lack of carbs yet energy-wise, I felt weaker working out this morning, and seemed to tire more quickly.

I'm adjusting to the new diet, have lost a few pounds, and feel better overall. My hip and low back are loosening up a bit after using my foam roller last night. I also switched things up a bit with my workout, after the stress of dealing with my dad's failing health and passing.

My hip and low back have loosened up more after the two chiropractic adjustments last week, and I was able to get a decent workout in today.

I'm at my mom's for a few days and worked out in the garage this morning. I'm still having a little trouble with my SI joint, had to bail out early on my heavy set of squats today. Did one rep, but had some pain in the adductor, so didn't risk doing another rep. My strength is still down a bit at this lighter bodyweight, but I feel better in general.

Back in Vermont today, had a pretty good workout, but somehow bruised the palm of my hand, at the base of my index finger... possible burst blood vessel? Could have been the power cleans, SLDL, or chin-ups... it'll heal soon enough.

I saw my old chiropractor while at my mom's last week, and my low back and SI joint are much better now, so I pushed my squat a little further today.

My friend and I took a trip south for a few days this week. Went as far as Hickory NC, to the used gym store. It's worth checking out if anyone gets down that way, a lot of great stuff I wish I had room for. We're staying at my mom's tonight, then back to Vermont this weekend. I had a good workout here, but still needed to see my chiro afterwards.
