    I had a great workout today and my hip and back held up well... very satisfying.

    Today was 5/3/1+ with 75, 85, and 95 percent for SQ and BP, finishing with a couple singles for each. Finished well despite right hip being a bit touchy... feel like I'm finally regaining some of my former strength.
    Bwt - 192
    DB swing: 50x12
    BP: 129x5, 146x3, 163x5, 175x1, 185x1 - all with a pause
    SQ: 165x5, 187x3, 210x5, 230x1, 240x1 - the single with 230 was off a bit, but 240 went smoothly, happy with it!

    While my workouts continue to go pretty well, I've had some bad luck in the past week otherwise. First, I spilled a hot meal from the microwave onto my foot last Friday, sustaining a nasty second degree burn. I've been treating it diligently, and it hasn't affected my training much. Then on Tuesday, I slipped on some ice with an armful of groceries, ending up on the pavement. I ended up with a mild sprained thumb (trying to catch myself), and a minor tweak to my back. Today's workout still went pretty well, considering, then the worst happened... I've lost my wallet with all my cards and license. Might have been lifted while I was at the gym or Y, or I could have lost it when I had breakfast, will know one way or another tomorrow. I put a lock on my cards in the meantime. Anyway, here's today's workout;

    I guess its true when they say "when it rains it pours". I hope all goes well with the wallet. I freaked out a few weeks ago when I couldn't find mine. After searching my house and GFs house I remembered I took it out of my pocket when I played down on the ground at my neighbors house to look under his car. Hope you feel better.

    First of all, I did find my wallet...seems it slipped out of my pocket at the doctor's office last week. Thankfully they kept it in a safe place till I realized and checked with them. I was pretty stiff and sore this morning, these single digit temps don't help, but I exceeded my expectations with my squat today. Still struggling to get my bench back up.

    My lady friend usually goes to the gym with me, but wasn't feeling well this morning, so I was on my own. This SI joint is still giving me fits off and on, ached down the whole leg most of the night. Today was DL and OHP for 5/5/5 with 65, 75, and 85 percent, so it was doable anyway.

    My low back and hip had been feeling pretty good for the last couple days, but for some reason was flared up badly when I got up this morning. Today was a lighter day, 5/5/5 with 65, 75, and 85 percent in SQ and BP, so I decided to push through it. I barely made it through, and I'm payin' for it now... it's gonna be a long, painful day, and unfortunately my chiropractor is out of town for the week. I do have an appointment at the VA clinic tomorrow, so we'll see what they say.

    I saw the chiropractor on Tuesday, felt better for a day and a half, now not so good. Been doing a lot of thinking, and decided it's a good time to let the powerlifting go. The VA okayed me for 12 chiropractic visits over 90 days, I have my first appointment with a new chiropractor tomorrow. I really hate the thought of giving up squats for good, hopefully I won't have to. I had a decent workout this morning, feel like I accomplished something, though the SLDL's were probably a mistake...my hip felt like it was gonna buckle on the descent. I'm also still having problems with the hand I injured a few weeks ago... I'll need to get it checked out soon.

    This golden age thing sure seems to be getting tarnished. I'm hoping I can train around my problems. I now realize why my BP and press had been going to crap. I was basically using one arm. I hope you can get some answers.
