We don't have much snow here yet, but we do get the lake effect off Lake Champlain. What we do have this week is very cold weather. It's 10 degrees at the moment, but they said it will feel like 0 or below all day. I'm strongly considering passing up the State meet in April, for the Nationals in June. That would give me more time to make a run at a couple of World Records for my division (RPS records). A guy from Maine set them in 2022, and they're solid lifts for 70-74 and raw...335 SQ, 250 BP and 440 DL. Today's workout was heavy BP and light SQ.

I had to workout in the storage unit today, my friend wasn't feeling well, and didn't want to go to the gym. Temp outside was 19, temp inside was only in the 40's for the workout. Light BP and heavy SLDL'S today.

I've been using three sets of five across recently, for my presses and squats. I haven't had a problem yet with OHP and BP, but using it for my Squats is another story. I'm pushing the weights up 10 lbs a week while I can, but it's already wearing me down. I'll probably go back to one work set on the squats, and dropping the reps from five to three when I increase the weight, then work it back up to five over a couple workouts. My knees are aching bad after today's workout, and my bad hip isn't much better.

My friend's gym was very busy today, we had to wait on a couple machines for her and a platform for me. A lot of young guys, and a fair share of young women... only a few older folks. When the weather warms up more, I'm going back to training in the storage unit. An added inconvenience at the gym, is trying to find someone I can trust, to spot my heavier benches...no racks or safety bars for benching!

We had a brief warmup today, near 40 degrees, so I went to the storage unit to squeeze in a little grip work and do some overhead presses. My grip strength has suffered since running my meet cycle.

Frigid cold this morning, temp in the single digits, but below zero with the wind chill. We still had a good workout at the gym.

Nice work Fifty. It was cold here too but sunny. I did turn on my propane torpedo heater before starting to lift. One work set was all I did.
