    The massage I had a few days ago apparently helped, along with a trip to my chiro on Saturday. Everything felt stronger today, despite the increased weights, and the beat goes on! I was pretty sore the day after that massage, and I had my doubts then.

    Had a double post somehow, and couldn't figure out how to delete one. Anyway, sixteen months ago I hit 310 x 3 SQ, 203 x 3 BP, 135 x 3 OHP, and 340 x 3 DL. I'm aiming for 310 x 5 SQ, 205 x 5 BP, 135 x 5 OHP, and 350 x 5 DL by the end of this year.

    Both of my workouts went well this week, and my back is improving. There's a meet coming up in November in Watkins Glen, NY. I'd like to compete, just to try to improve a little on my State Records, but I'll see how things go this month before I decide.

    Today was another good day training-wise, but tough emotionally. My girl Maureen would have been 64 today, so I picked up flowers and a card and took a trip to Syracuse to place them at her grave. Many of you know how much she meant to me (and always will), and I would remind you all to make the most of each day with your loved ones, and try to surprise them (in a pleasant way) occasionally.

    I'm sure I was a little more motivated today to do well with my workout, but I'm actually a little surprised at how strongly my workouts continue to go. I feel the plan is working, and the small changes I've made are a big part of it. Even my pressing (always a weak point) is improving steadily, and I'd like to think that the emphasis on triceps work (with the LTE and no-touch CGBP) is what's made the difference. At my age, I guess time will tell.

    Very hot and humid here today...workout wasn't much fun, but I'm moving up pretty well.

    Another solid workout today, though my squats are beginning to feel heavy. A couple more weeks and I'll probably start varying the reps as I move up on the last set. Also making other small adjustments as I go, and feeling pretty good.

    I just got back last night from a trip to the Outer Banks with my mom. One of my sisters rented a house there for a week and invited us down to share it with her family. It was nice to get away, but I'm glad to be back, especially after failing to find a decent gym there. I checked out three "fitness centers" and one sports complex, and there wasn't a rack to be seen. Mostly aerobic equipment, a few basic machines, and each place had one Smith Machine. As for Olympic weights, they were all equipped the same - one old Olympic bar and minimal plates. I took one workout while there, and did the following;
    Power clean & press: 45 x 5 x 2, 65 x 5, 85 x 3, 105 x 2, 125 x 5, 105 x 5 x 2 bo
    Barski clean: 115 x 3, 135 x 3, 150 x 3
    CGBP (on Smith Machine - awkward): 120 x 6, 140 x 6, 160 x 5
    Rev. curl: 60 x 6, 90 x 5
    Pinch grip: two 25-lb. Olympic plates (smooth sides out) x 8 sec. x 2 sets

    As for today's workout, wasn't sure how it would go after eleven hours on the road yesterday driving back, but I did pretty well!
