I tried something a little different yesterday, and I'm paying for it today with increased soreness. I've been curious about wave loading in the past, don't believe I ever really tried it. I used two waves for my squat yesterday, not sure it's something I'd continue, I never responded well to too much volume. I also added BB rows back into my routine, after not doing them since June due to my bicep tendon sprain. They seemed to go pretty well.

I returned yesterday from Vermont after watching my friend's dogs for two weeks. After the six hour drive, I slept pretty good. It was just 41 degrees here when I got up, so I had to warm up the garage a bit before my workout. My back was bothering me a little, but I got through everything alright, then saw my chiro afterwards. I've been doing standing presses behind neck as a change from the OHP, and they're beginning to improve nicely. I also like the fat bar CG floor presses I've been doing...believe they're helping my BP.

I got a very early start on my workout this morning after waking up at 4 am. After warming up the garage a bit (only 37 degrees this morning), I got the workout started about 5:15, and it was a good one.

Thanks so much Jerry. I gotta say that I'm feeling great since my chiro straightened my back out last week. And to top it all off, I got a very good PR in the hub grip this morning with 42 lbs. I video'd it with my phone, but can't seem to figure out how to load it here. Maybe one of my grandkids will be able to help me with it LOL!

I was pretty pumped for today's workout, and I'll tell you why. I've been trying to find a reasonably priced vintage deep-dish Olympic 45-lb plate to use (eventually) for my hub gripping. Yesterday I checked craigslist on a whim, and found a set of vintage Billard Olympic plates, about 60 miles away. As fate would have it, I was already planning on going down to that general area with a friend today to check out a new Sportsman's Warehouse store. I checked to make sure the plates were still available, and now they're mine. They weren't cheap, but I managed to negotiate a better deal, and I'm happy with the acquisition - 230 lbs of vintage Billard Olympic plates. Now to today's workout, included are pics of my new plates and my 2.5" fat bar set up for floor press.

With just three weeks to go till the Ohio State meet, I seem to be peaking well, and had a pretty strong workout this morning.

Looks great. Will you be wearing a mask at the meet?

No mask for me, they're leaving it up to the lifters.
