I thought I remembered seeing this post before so I looked back and found it. Now I understand the "fat bar" Looks like you have some nice equipment. Those vintage plates are cool.

Only two workouts left before my meet, and today was very hot and humid in my garage gym, but I did what I wanted to do.

I took my last deadlift workout today, before the meet next weekend, and I'm so glad to have them behind me. I'm looking forward to a week off after the meet, but that's all it will be, as I'll have to start my cycle for the Worlds.

Last workout before my meet next weekend is DONE! I tweaked my hip a bit on Friday, helping my Dad get a big tree limb down and cut up. It came down (almost) during a storm we had some time ago, but was wedged tight between the tree and the ground. My hip got progressively worse that day, but after a few sessions with a foam roller, it was much better today. The workout went pretty well, now rest up and eat smart till next weekend.

I tried logging results from my meet on Saturday, last night but it didn't work, so here's a brief recap. I weighed in at 196, felt pretty good all week and was expecting a little more, but I still came away with one State record and three National records, so all in all a good day.
SQ: 1st att. - 290 -2 reds 1 white, depth - side refs said it was a fraction high.
2nd att. - Took it over, no problem, 3 whites and National record
3rd att. - 310 - no good, made sure I took it low enough, got stuck in the hole
    BP: 1st att. - 190 - no problem, 3 whites
2nd att. - 200 - bad handoff, but I settled and got it, 3 whites
3rd att. - 210 - another shaky handoff, but it started up well, unfortunately stalling at my sticking point
DL: 1st att. - 345 - smooth and steady all the way, 3 whites
2nd att. - 370 - slower off the floor, slowed a little more at knee height, but I held form and finished it clean, new State and National record, passed 3rd attempt.
    Total - 860 - new National record

That's great news. It's nice when one of us geezers does well. Congrats!

Nice work Fifty. I'm sure the judging was strict.
But you got the job done.
