I want to thank you all for the kind words after my meet of almost two weeks ago. I took time off after the meet to travel a little and recuperate, just got back on Tuesday. I picked up three sets of vintage York dumbbells at Used Gym Store in Hickory NC, a great place to find all kinds of strength training equipment, also got my pic with the owner for their Facebook page...John Sedorus, with the grey beard and Navy ballcap.

Took my first workout since the meet, changed things up a bit, I'll condense things more as I get closer to my next meet on Nov. 12.

My hip and SI joint issues had been improving considerably over the past month, then last evening flared up badly for no apparent reason. I used a foam roller three times overnight, trying to get some relief, but it still impacted my squatting today.

I visited my chiropractor yesterday, trying to get some relief for the hip issue, but it didn't help much. I was in considerable discomfort last night and spent a lot of time with the foam roller. I was feeling quite a bit better this morning, and it actually seemed to improve throughout my workout. I'm changing course a little with my training for a time, and may decide to skip the World Record Breaker meet I'd planned on in November. I have till the first week in October to decide one way or the other.

I'm in Vermont for a few days, helping out a friend who was in the hospital recently. I trained at Lift VT, a pretty decent gym overall...my hip is still a little gimpy, slow and steady is the plan for now, but a good workout nonetheless.

Nice pull once you loaded correctly. I am good at misloading also.

I'm still in Vermont helping my friend, but should be heading back home by next weekend. The gym in town was fairly quiet this morning, and I was able to get a really good workout, even though I'm still having problems with the hip and SI joint. I lay on a half foam roller for about a half hour each night, and it does help, some days more than others.

I'm still in Vermont, but hoping to head back home this Saturday. I've done all I can to help my friend get back on track after her hospital stay, but I'm afraid it's up to her and her family now. I've already got another job lined up after I get home... helping my mom move an old friend down to her daughter's in NC. I just can't seem to say NO! I'm very anxious to get back to my own garage gym, but I pushed a good workout today at Lift VT.

Back in my garage gym today, I was feeling tired at the beginning, probably from the six hour drive home yesterday, but felt much better after my workout.
