    Sorry your knee(s) acting up.

Did your reconstruction use the patellar tendon? Do you have a belt squat set up at your gym? If you do, some high rep, low weight sets can help...when I have issues with my knee, I use it and it seems to help. Why, who knows...maybe improved blood flow to the area.

For your pin Squats, you might throw a box underneath you that helps re-enforce the landmarks of depth...fwiw.

Thanks. No, I had the hamstring tendon autograft. Our gym doesn't have a belt squat rack (yet), but I see them more and more on Instagram.

Our gym did do a youtube video which also pointed out the box can be a proxy for depth. I decided to try pin squats because a Barbell Logic video described them as a good alternative in cases of tendinopathy. They also said pin squats were the best of both worlds of both a tempo squat and a box squat.

Yeah, they used the hamstring graft for me as well.

Sounds like you're way ahead of the curve then, regarding how to treat your knee effectively...carry on!

Your surgery obviously has not prevented you from achieving some great PRs.

I hardly broke a sweat today. I almost felt guilty drinking my vanilla whey and orange Gatorade shake afterwards.

Since my next workout will take me to the 185 milestone for pin SQ, I will do them 5x3 across instead of the ascending sets I have been. The next workout after that, I will return to normal SQ and alternate them with pin SQ.

Although an in-town work meeting brought me closer to my gym on a weekday, it's unexpected length meant for a meager lunch and a change in plans (fewer singles on pressing movements, postpone DL until Saturday and switch in barbell rows instead).

I started easing back into squats again today, with some ascending sets of 5. I'll still do pin squats on Wednesday, and regular squats again next Saturday, adding my belt.

    SQ: 45x5x2, 135x5, 185x5, 190x5, 195x5

DL: 295x4. Didn't fail a 5th rep, because I didn't try one. Because my DL currently sucks, I will DL light on Wednesday, so fuck barbell rows until DL gets better.
