Wonderful news. Jerry, small companies are no better. And age discrimination is a big problem.

Thanks. Yeah, the trend so far seems to be older workers with a lot of tenure.

MSC is an industrial tool distributor. They do sell some of their own brand that they have made in China. They are know for their giant sized catalogue. The recently closed down the whole department that was responsible for producing the book when they found it cheaper to have it made by an outside firm. Most likely her in the US. But about 50 people at MSC lost their jobs.

I saw something on a Press 2.0 form check in the coaches forum that I wanted to try myself yesterday. The trainee was having trouble with his hips staying forward during the bounce. He was asked and confirmed that he was self-cueing tight glutes during his setup. Turns out that was what was keeping his hips forward. I tried the same advice and felt like my press had more pop from the bounce. Hard to undo that self-cue, though, because habit.

I was skeptical about deadlifting heavy today. I thought I might still be on the wrong end of the stress/recovery/adaptation cycle after squatting Wednesday (albeit not particularly heavy). But I ended up doubling my previous 1RM.

Heavy DL: 135x5, 225x3, 300x1, 330x2. Not as much shaking on the first rep, which is usually a consistent challenge for me. Might need to add at least one more warmup set.

@charlocity2 on Instagram: “Not sure why I didn't get 335 to my knees, when I got 330x2 on Friday. Oh, well...deload 10% and work back up.”

    DL: 335xF. Would have been a PR. Maybe I warmed up too much: SQ 45x5x2, 135x5; DL: 135x5, 225x3, 265x1, 305x1.

    I disagree.

    135 2*5>225 2*3>275*2>305*1>325*1...then your top single, with a minimum 5 minute rest after 325.

Interesting. Takes getting used to, deadlifting first, without the natural warmup squatting beforehand provides. Thanks.
