    Been a messed up past few days.

    Got actually sick, and the temp here has been in single digits. I can only train around 6 am, and have to be at my desk about 9, so all of those factors plus staying up too late on Sunday really threw me out of whack.

    On top of that, found out yesterday that a woman I'd been friends with for 15 years shot and killed her family and her self. Today is the funeral mass. It is really difficult to reconcile the person I knew and what happened. Grief is the only word for this. There's tragedy on every level.

    all I could manage today:
    Pause Squat 45x5x2, 135x5, 185x5, 235x5x2 - little knee slide at bottom.
    Press 45x5x2, 85x5, 100x3, 117x2, 127x5x3 - came up on my toes for last rep or two on both of last two sets.

    going to play Friday by ear. I may just work up to 315 for a single on squat to get the PR, and come back next week and go singles across with it. Ditto on the DL - get the weight I was planning for singles across. Haven't figured out a back up plan for the BP yet, but probably just get the five I was planning on. Of course, if I miraculously feel better and things move well, I'll get the original plan, but especially this week, I'm not wedded to anything.

    PR Friday

    Squat 45x5x2, 135x5, 225x3, 275x2, 315x1x3 sets - PR.
    Bench 45x5x2, 95x5, 135x3, 175x2, 197.5x5 - PR
    Deadlift 135x4, 225x3, 295x2, 340x1x3 sets @RPE “that’s a set of fahve!” -PR

    Rest, recover, back on schedule next week.

    Woke up late, to 15 degrees out side and with zero motive to train. It is supposed to be back up to civilized tomorrow, hope to salvage this week.

    I don’t want to look at a barbell, let alone lift one right now. 99% of the time that changes when I actually get in a rack or by my first work set.

    I’ve really liked the way the last 6 weeks of training have gone for the most part. I’m pleased with the PRs on squat and bench, and glad to see that my Deadlift is inching up too. But I’m tired and can’t seem to get over this cold and life has definitely got in the way the past few weeks.

    Set a timer for 25 minutes and got this in:
    3-0-3 tempo squats 45x5x2, 135,155,175x8
    Press 45x5x2, 95x5, 115x3, 125x2, 135x5 - PR!

    Beltless, in sneakers, at 7 am on a 20degree day.

    Coincidentally, this will be one of the last posts on this log for awhile; I’ve signed up to lift at the USAPL MO State Championship, so I will be making a log on the competitive forum for the meet before coming back over here.

    This will be my first meet and I am super excited to go through the process and hope to not bring dishonor to my family.

    Chasing singles today:

    Bench Press 45x5x2, 95x5, 135x3, 165x2, 185x1
    200x1, 210x1, 215x1, 220x1 - each of the last three I’ve never done before. PR!

    Tomorrow I’ll chase singles on Squat and Deadlift, and start logging my meet prep in a different log
