    5/26/2017 - post-op day 10

Felt really good for the most part today. Felt a slight pain for the first time that worried me, but mostly feel real good. Hoping to start ween off Crutches soon.

    84 degrees in the CPM

20 minutes in the bike at zero resistance. Feeling pretty good just getting the hip moving again.

Looks like I've run out my LP on the CPM at 90 degrees [emoji14] I'm actually not sure if it goes higher....

I've been trying to slowly add weight to my operated side while using Crutches. Starting with ~10% BW and feeling out more each day. The goal is to be off any kind of walking aid by the end of next week

Oh, I also did 10 Chins today....just because I have to crutch past my rack every time I come in the house

Another 20 minutes on the bike

96 degrees in the CPM. Don't know how high it goes!

At about 35% weight on the right (operated) side. It feels good, I'm just hesitant to put weight on it.

Once I start walking, I think I'll update weekly.... I think

Another 20 minutes on the bike

102 degrees in the CPM and climbing

At about 50% weight on the right (operated) side. I can probably get down to the one crutch. I can stand on both feet without Crutches without issue.

2 week follow up with the surgeon on the 31st

Had my 2 week follow up with the surgeon and apparently I had more work done than I thought. Cam and pincer lesions, repair and debraidment of the labrum, 2 anchors to hold it in place, partial synovectomy, and some other stuff.

But I still feel great. I was achey for the first time this morning, but it wore off once I started moving.

Surgeon cleared me to walk as soon as I can ween off the last crutch. Should be tomorrow or Friday.

Walking pretty good without a crutch now, so I'll just put up updates weekly and if some major milestone or complications happen!

    6/9/2017 - post-op week 3

I decided to post Friday's now because Tuesday posts feel weird as a recap.

I've been walking really well. Little to no discomfort in day to day life. Right hip flexor still feels week. I've been cleared for all Internal/external rotation and can start on some hip flexor stretching.

I'm adding resistance to the exercise bike little by little.

I even cut the grass at church today where there was some slopes and uneven ground and everything felt good. Where I most notice the surgery is getting up out of a seated position. I can feel it's definitely not 100% and a body weight squat would probably not feel good at all.

Improvements feel rapid and I feel better day after day

    7/2/2017 - almost 7 weeks post op

So things have been excruciatingly boring.

Had my 6 week follow up last Thursday and the surgeon was very happy with my progress. He even had me try to single leg squat to get in and out of a chair with my operative leg.

Time to try and get back to squatting! Plan is to start with bodyweight and scale up with a high box then gradually increase weight and lower the box.

Not all ROMS feel great so I'm definitely going to ease into it over the next few weeks

1st training day back 7 weeks post op hip labrum tear - YouTube

Decided to try and force some healing along without doing anything to aggravate anything. All ROMs pain free

    High box squat: 45 3x20

Bench: 185 3x5 (never done a Novice LP so I figure I'll start now reeeaallll low to keep me sane. Max before surgery was 320)
