    Press Camp....
I learned I'm terrible at 2.0. Especially doing it every rep. I'm used to 1.0 and a stretch reflex, or 1.5. I only went up to 65# then dropped to 63 for a set of 5; I need to practice it more.
On bench, I used to push the bar up a little too far away from me (moment arm), and now I overcompensate a little bit pushing back toward the rack. Will fix.

That old saw, the powerclean start, came up in q&a. I must be missing something.
It becomes an infinite loop for me with the assertion that POWER clean is by definition a submaximal lift, submaximal being the reason Olympic weightlifters' low hip start works; and that you can only POWER clean 50-60% of your deadlift; yet still advocate for only a high hip deadlift start (which won't be powercleaned if its 50-60%+ of DL). Whichever way works for you, I say it's good.

On a personal note I learned that probably my biggest issue w/lifting as a whole over years and years is probably lack of technical precision & consistency. That and being relatively weak.

BOTTOM LINE: SS CAMP - HIGHLY RECOMMEND

    5_22_18 Tuesday
Squat: Need a chiro adjustment, not likely to happen before late next week. Pause bench is getting easier.

5_23_18 Wednesday Trying to get as much of the week's program in because I wont be available to train Friday-Monday (boo!)
Paused bench, thought I'd shit the bed benching so much lately...but no. DEFINITELY getting easier, great bar speed only slowing down last rep of last set.... DL too felt not too taxing. Will do squat tomorrow.

5_24_18 Thursday *sigh* Low back VERY fatigued during squats. Bench I expected to be fatigued, press surprised me, seemed extremely easy; all warmups slow from a dead stop, 1 at 80 didn't seem that hard... i videoed 80x1 and 70x5, gotta look and see if I got it (damned globo). Down sets seemed pretty easy, to go slow and not use much rebound. IDK, my way my elbows arent quite as forward, the way i was taught at camp seems to use more back muscles... I didn't do 2.0 like a dope, because I didn't need it but I guess I really should be practicing. Just trying to get out of there. 2.5acres of grass to cut and family obligations!!

5_25/5_26 drove 7 hrs, then arduous yardwork for 3+ hrs, then all day Saturday (picking up hauling, dirt, sand, leaves all over) - opening lake cottage (then another 7 hrs home yesterday). I felt like a giant sweaty mosquito bite. I'm counting it as this week's cardio.
Probably wasn't the best idea all that training before. I'm not sure if training + cardio could be affecting my blood pressure so soon? Today, 111/66, 114/62, 110/56.

5_29_18 Tuesday BP still 110/67 or something. Still need chiro, low back and right hip/knee wonk in squat. Squat is the hardest to gauge for me, I've always been the SlOWEST squatter around. Press was pretty easy today. CGBP was not, 93 was probably too much, I could get two more but would have been very slowwwwwly (prob because correcting where I touch and the too-far back bar at the top? or granny fatigue.)

Indeed! That was a nice win last night. I have to confess though, I'm a New Jersey Devils fan.

I hope they continue to play like that, even if its minus Kuz (collarbone? shoulder?). NJD - me too; I used to go to practices with my son, nicest guys around, Scott Stevens you wouldn't think he'd be so gentle (my son was three at that time, 26 now), and Marty did a lot for hockey kids around here; we played against Bruce Driver's team a few times, and Marty's son's team (Coincidentally his son and mine were goalies - I was a goalie mom ... best and the worst, in terms of other parents, misunderstanding, and ups and downs.) Hockey guys, I'll say, some of the best guys around! I STILL chat and am friends with my son's hockey coach.

5_31_18 Thursday I really need to get to the chiro; it didnt hit me til squats that something was up (couldnt squat wo difficulty had to cut it last night). It didnt hurt til this am - I'm starting to think its caused by pulling with my back out and one side compensating.
