    11_15_18 Thursday In a raging snowstorm only one in the gym was me. Took my SO 4hrs to travel 20 miles home.
    Obvious today that my low back is 'out'; I'm sure it'll resolve itself eventually but cut some DL (because it wasnt getting looser/better during) and gym closing early!! Tis the season for weather, sick & holiday interruptions and regression apparently. Sad! My right knee is also chirping. I was saddened to learn today that my first Olympic weightlifting coach passed away. Wth, he was only my age!!

    11_17_18 Saturday Back still wonky, left side upper rib, neck & right side lower back - but way better squats than Tues. in terms of descent straight down - first downset took some effort staying tight at the bottom. Chiro in 3 hrs.

    11_20_18 Tuesday laugh or cry ? w/squats. Back meh and not feeling so great (stomach ache)
    • Accidentally paused 1@8 w/190# for 2 sec – and stood it right up. what's up with THAT? Rest of the squats sucked so I didn't count it, 185x3 @9, total misgroove on rep 2, wth? but I'm stupidly stubborn so I based my downsets on a lower e1rm and muddled thru it getting "holy shit" faces throughout. I'm not strong enough. :-(
    • Press - happy; shitty barpath on 1@8 but still got it; 3rd rep at 80 I had to use some layback but no reflex bounce anymore (everything is SO much harder that way!)
    • CGBP 97 probably a little low for 6@9, IDK.

    This morning was (its now cloudy and shitty again) the first one w/sun in a while, and my calcaneus and other joints aren't killing me. Thankful for that, and press. We'll see. ONE of my lifts always seems to be in the toilet, but at least I'm lifting. And the trainer keeps telling me to stop resting, and making 'tch! powerlifting!' comments. Fuck you!

    Print out "The First Three Questions" article from here and hand it to the trainer next time he says that. (One of the first 3 questions has to do with rest between sets). But you know him better than I do.

    they don’t care. They’re also 10+yrs younger, so....maybe I need to compete (lolol)


    Deadlifts up to 230 today home w uneven floors and a girlie bar; and something is STILL up w my back/right hip. So. Cut it. Patience. It’s a virtue. An exasperating one. Lifting always goes better in spring/summer for me and I guess I won’t die from one missed session 😡 arggghhhhhh!!!!!

    Supposed to do two downsets for squat, accidentally did three. oy. My hips/back felt somewhat better during these, hopefully working itself out. The girl next to me said my squats were good; idk.

    11_29_18 Thursday In spite of chiro low back lingering and making things painful and therefore slower, lighter, and more careful. Sad because volume should taper over the next couple weeks and then a test week. Oh well. Start without me. My longer-term goals were squat 225, pull 270 and bench over 135, I guess those are also next year's goals...
