But with BP meds....what was I thinking? The squats I could barely breathe; need to ask my dr about the BP meds, the lower number is usually in the 70 but now is in the 60s and was 53 last week. wth? As usual the squats weren't heavy for my legs, keeping my back up was hard, and trying to breathe.
Bench was fine. Incline bench was hard after bench.
Whole new crowd early mornings; some of whom cast derisive looks/expressions at me. You talkin' to ME??? Reminded me what Rip says about the iron, and no one being able to take it away from you. Fuck 'em. Off to Florida to see my grandkids, will miss a session this weekend but that's ok.
    Squat 135x8 @7 145x8 @8 152x8 @9 140x8x2 sets
    TNG Bench 95x8 @7 100x8 @8 105x8 @9 100x8x2 sets
Incline Bench 77x10 AMRAP 67x12x3 sets

I drink a ton of water. IDK it still seems to be high 50's, 60s to low 70s. And, it was great to see them.
Really the only power there is, and also the only thing you can leave behind, is love.

Very tired from the travel, and right knee has been bothering me since Thurs squats. Thought it'll turn out one of two ways: a) I'll be too tired and crap or b) relatively rested and it'll be ok.
    • Knee said no to more sets at 155
    • Press was great, but also my shoulder hurt after, pretty sure its press that bothers it not bench - IDK why my bar path is really better, still 1.0, one at a time no stretch reflex.
    • DB, I could do more but got such a hamstring cramp I had to stop at 10reps. used 35#ers then 30#s.
I see the SS forums have changed; no more elderly, I guess it got moved. We're being deprecated!

Still tired and my BP seems too low - while exercising my heart is beating like crazy. I didn't take my meds today - we'll see.
Training went ok, but I got the 2nd leg press machine as the other was occupied, diff. angle etc, probably got the weights wrong, didn't do so well - and these make my quads feel swollen.

No BP meds. Its 130-120/70-65. Still feel weird. Squat, IDK if the 155 was really @9 maybe 8.5. These sets are more cardio limited - is anything as frustrating as having an excellent setup (tight is great, bar and midfeet are like magnets) then having to stop to catch breath after 3-4 reps? My legs were fine, wasn't sure after the 270 leg press/quad swell.
Missed my last reps of incline, my triceps just were so pumped by then. I'm not used to this FEELING the muscles like, SWOLLEN, stuff.
Found out the heart rate variability really can't indicate heart HEALTH (I wasnt looking at it in terms of dictating programming). I still haven't hopped on the death-monitor bandwagon (apple watch, fitbit - I just think they're dumb).

My wife bought me an Apple Watch for Christmas, probably just because I bought her one the year before. I don't wear it while training, though.

I did ask her to gift me a new FitBit, which she did. I wore a prior version out when I used to do a lot of hiking. But the new one does not measure any stairs that I take. It also doesn't recognize my barbell training as a workout, something it's supposed to do automatically. Honestly, the thing I think it does best for me is tell me about my night of sleep.

It tells you about your night of sleep? I know I go to bathroom 2-3x a night. Does it diagnose sleep apnea?? Idk what’s the value of that stuff, steps even sleep etc. For me, they dont seem indicative of anything - although my brother-in-law dropped dead and it stopped tracking. I can’t depend on my own thoughts and feelings, sleep, recovery, etc as to my training, so...I wouldn’t want the Fitbit or watch to second guess things, it would just addle my brain more. If it says im fit and training doesn’t go well I’ll wonder what’s wrong w me; If it says I’m not fit, I’ll be thinking the session will not go well from the get go.
    Maybe it’s for runners?
Like at work they tell so proud how many steps they got - wth it’s got nothing to do w “fitness” in fact if I ask them what’s “fit”...they can’t answer. Then they were competing, the one lady was sitting by the tv waving her arm around. Maybe it’s just not for me.
