    BLOCK 15, WEEK 2, DAY 4

6_30_19 Sunday Still on a training upswing here.
Shame because I'm missing the last half of next week due to travel. OSFTSB. Pin height choices are a tad high/a tad low (today I lowered - figured if it's so high and easier probably not the point?)

    2s Deadlift 215x1 @8 208x3 @9 200x3
    Pin Bench 120x1 @8 116x3 @9 110x3x4s (last set @9)
    RDL 100x8 @7 125x8x2s @8

    BLOCK 15, WEEK 2, DAY 3

6_29_19 Saturday Bench flew today shocked the spotter. Why sometimes it's so easy, other times not. Maybe got a handle on what moves my bench... Chiro after this, seemed ok.

    Pin Squat 150x1 @8 145x3 @9 135x3
    TNG Bench 130x1 @8 110x4x5s

    BLOCK 15, WEEK 3, DAY 1
7_2_19 Tuesday Stressed, got a work text while squatting - URGENT (they think their poor planning constitutes an emergency on my part! gotta go back for (ଓଡ଼ିଆ))
Lower body dead - cut it. I CAN do heavier squat sessions, but need to swallow pride, accept the rpe will autoregulate the next couple lighter squat sessions.
Forgot to do a press single @9 after @8, tried after downsets and NO! Eff me. No training til NEXT Tuesday *sigh*.
Someday I'll get a muscle. Somewhere. Maybe. It may not be too late.

    Press 85x1 @8 85x2 @9 82x2x2s 88x1 FAIL

7_13_19 Saturday Still clawing my way back. Squat to 180 felt great... also great focus/form. Til someone came behind and starting chatting, asked me to video deadlifts, threw me completely off for my triple - 4s pause on rep 1 (np got right up), one more idk- forward? - rep, and racked. She said they looked good? I should have redone the set but thought maybe I overshot. Didn't feel like it though. Undershot press. Stupid ADD.
    Squat 180x1 @8 175x2 @? 165x3 x2s

    7_16_19 Tuesday - SQUAT 8,9,10
I'll have to pick up a book on sports psychology, try to foster better focus. I mean, it's just squats.
First my rack was taken, so mirror.
Finally moved to the corner rack...things were going fine til 190#, as soon as I started, a guy came from my left peripheral vision in front of me to get a drink of water, scared the crap out of me. 190# pause squat. WTH? My legs felt like I had more just was disgusted w/myself and cut it there - wuss.

Reading about those distractions makes me glad I train in my garage.
When I train alone I prefer to be by myself.!

    BLOCK 15, WEEK 5, TEST DAY 2
    7_18_19 Thursday Competition Bench
Pause singles to @10. I managed to mess this up too (wanted to go for 138, 140), but on the positive, maybe I'll grow some chest muscle out of all this.

105-110-115-120-125-130; surprisingly decent barspeed at 130, easier than usual.
135# FAIL Classic spot fail! Hanging way over the bar and me with hands under it the whole time, couldn't see ended up watching his hands. I think I didn't use enough leg drive, and let the bar sink into my chest a teeny bit - big mistakes (PRS has a bench tips graphic that I recalled and tried to follow). Spotter suggested smaller jumps.
    130
    60kg PR
    60.5kg PR
135# PR after all these reps, slo--o-o-o-w grind 6" off my chest with a horrendous hamstring cramp, but at no point was the weight static/stuck.

Today, between my shoulder blades is sore as hell, and a little chest DOMS.

I may still be a weakling but training's paying off IRL. I moved a 350# platform with stairs w/my husband...then he comes home and he's emptying junk of the day, so I go to help him, we take out two sides of a pretty wide older sliding door. He stands it vertical - "pick that up". Pick it up? "yea, just pick it up." I pick it up. "Jesus Christ! ok put it down. What do you think that weighed?" IDK, a little over 100#, 130# tops? he said his newest subcontractor who's 30yo 6' probably my weight, couldn't pick it up. wth?

You're bad to the bone! There's the no distraction factor, OTOH there's motivation at a gym too. Although help is not available either way - even the trainers, IDK if anyone would be able to look at a squat and say you were a tad forward, or you broke hips a tiny bit first, or you lost your upper back in bench or you lost your elbows a tiny bit third rep of your press... you know, little things? What's weird is I can see them in people I don't watch all the time - I'd need to be able to see myself. Didn't get vid last night because I'm the only (old) lady in there, bad enough I need a guy to spot me.

Get that guy from your post above to spot you in the gym HaHa, that was a funny story! I look at age this way, if I am still getting stronger I can't be that old yet, no matter what the calendar says.

I am not doing so well with my lifts at almost 70yo. My GF son is 35, is a correction officer. He works out at the local Golds Gym daily. Has huge arms. Everyone comments on them, he wears tight shirts. Recently we had to move a refrigerator down to the basrment. He was useless, had to get GFs son in law to help, he is a plumber. Some guys are all show no go.Curls for the gurls.📺💪
