Yeah, I looked at the schedule and figured that's what it was. I'd bet you put more pressure on yourself to perform there than you would for some other meet.

I mean there's not much I can do to keep Hambrick from (accurately) comparing my anthropometry with some of our closest cousins among the great apes, so I'm trying to just take it as an opportunity to aim from some PR's surrounded by a group of like-minded folks who I esteem and respect considerably.

    7/22/19:

    Squat: 360x3x5
    Press: 180x3, 175x2x2, 170x2x5 (hard today)
    Chins: 100x3, 75x5, 50x7

    Hey Adam
It seems that you have started to do split snatches somewhat regularly. Given your comments about the previous workouts I guess we have to wait a little while longer before you upload a video of them?

Hi, Emil. I don't record everything, usually just to help me check out technique stuff after the fact. I will try to get a split snatch video up some time soon, especially if I can do a working rep that's not bowling shoes ugly.

    7/26/19:

    Squat: 400x2+f (oops)
    Press: 185x5
    Deadlift: 500x1x2

    7/29/19:

    Squat: 420xF (double oops)
Press: 200xF (oops again), 200x1 (figured out what technique option to use on Friday at least)

Not too worried about the recent failed reps. I will find some more grind on Friday. I'll be more rested. I show up on game day. At least that's what I'm telling myself. There will be time to kick myself in the butt, if necessary, once the meet is over.

    8/2/2019 (WFAC):

    Coaches' meet

Squat: 170x1, 186x1, 201xF (Damn. Thought I was still grinding it upwards when the spotters took it)
    Press: 85x1, 90x1, 95xF (Red Lights. I don't disagree, but I wouldn't disagree with whites either)
    Deadlift: 220x1, 235x1, 241x1 (PR!)

I'm considering the Squat (attempt 2) a meet PR, the Press (3rd) a "training PR" (because I would absolutely call that a good PR for in-gym), and this is no doubt an all-time Deadlift PR, so I'm happy. It was also excellent to have the opportunity to share a platform with so many people whom I esteem so highly. I will edit this post or add a new one to include the videos.

Squat third attempt (I was wrong. It went down. Spotters were right to grab it): YouTube

    Deadlift third attempt: YouTube

Congrats on the deadlift PR! It didn't even look hard.

Did you get an explanation for the red lights on your third press?

Thanks! It wasn't that hard, but I was struggling to hold a hook, because I've become used to a more aggressive knurl. I did discuss the red lights on the press with the judges. There was a question of whether the bar went down a bit on the way up and whether the lockout was under my absolute control. Here are the results: https://startingstrength.com/content...-meet-2019.pdf

Back to training soon. Still just catching up on stuff from being away for 6 days.
