    Friday

    BW - 184

    Deadlift - 330x5

    Strict Press - 105x4x4

    Squat - 260x5x4

    BW Dips - 15, 10, 10

Slept 5 hours last night, no coffee/pre-workout, forgot to pack my belt (yes I panicked for one second), still set a PR. No more nocebos!

Stress from work is piling up lately but continuing the gainzzz in the gym really starts off the days right.

Too excited to fall asleep last night because of both the new episode of Westworld and the anticipation for the sweet three-plate squat. Was not able to grind my way up to 315 during LP so I took my time with the new program. The patience has paid off and it wasn't a bone-on-bone grind as I imagined it to be. Looking at the video, I probably have one more left in the tank.

Deadlift was wack today. The plan was 2 sets of eight but on the 4th rep I felt a discomfort at the top of my right hip. I walked around for a little and calmed myself down but just couldn't pull another set of 8.

    BW - 184 (?!)

    Press - 120x5, 125x4, 130x2, 125x3

    Squat - 250x5x2, 255x5

    Paused Bench - 160x4x4

    BW Chinups - 10, 8, 6

I fucked up. Heavy press day but the 130 press was a failure that did not even pass my chin. I probably should have backed off more weight in the next set to complete five reps but I didn't check my ego and wasn't exactly thinking. The failure for three sets in a row felt weird. I think it was due to the lack of the bounce instead of strength. My mind was just occupied by some shitty stuff and the technique was sliding. I will tackle this weight again in two weeks and keep 125 as my 5RM for light-day calculations. I'll probably need to start using microplates again depending on the next performance.

I realized that my squat weight was 5 lbs lower than it should have been today after two sets. The paused bench should have been at 165 too. It wasn't a big deal since they were supposed to be light work, but it has reminded me to double-check my previous logs in the future.

It may also have to do with a packed gym this morning due to "start of the month" crowd, and I had to wait for both the rack and the bench. Yea it is a thing in my gym. I have noticed the pattern now. OK that was enough excuses... Rant over!

Deadlift today was hard and ugly. The video comparison between 335 and 340 has a HUGE gap. The last rep was a struggle and took 8 seconds from the floor to lockout. Time for a form check next week.

Strict press at 115, which was a little over 85% of the 130, did not feel hard at all.

Cut my top set for squat off at 3 reps because of my fear of missing a rep and the video confirmed that I was only hitting just parallel.
