I'm back from a nice Colorado trip. I had the goal of finding a nice smooth natural stone while there, and I did.
The stone I found is exactly what I was hoping to find, with a nice triangular shape with no rough edges.
It has been hard to weigh, but I know it weighs at least 116 pounds. I'm calling it my mini Húsafell Stone.

Good to read you had a good trip. I have a stone that I picked up in Montauk Point over 20 years ago. I had lifted up into the back of my Wagoner, it's in my yard now. I don't know how much it weighs, but I can't lift it now.

I cant believe you were never curious enough to know the weight of your stone.

I recently bought a digital crane scale. When my grandson comes over in sure we'll figure out a way to weigh it and I'll email a photo.

Lol... yeah, I was on the hunt for something similar and I really lucked out. I found it about 80-85 yards away from
my car and I had to take a break about halfway there. The elevation was over 7,200 feet, so I was sucking wind.

Wow, Shug. I had no idea you had stones as part of your home gym equipment! Very cool.

Also, I've been meaning to ask you a conjugate question. I recently had a chance to meet the HS strength coach at the school my 8th grader will be going to next year. Interesting guy - very big into the Westside/Conjugate system. I was a little curious what you think about using Westside for rank beginners - esp HS freshmen. Would you have such a trainee jump right into the Westside method with box squats, bands, etc (which is what this coach will be doing), or would you take a different approach?
