Bet that statement will ruffle some feathers There are many valid methods of training. The one that keeps you in the game either because it's fun or is physically able to be done is optimal. We all have different genetics and therefore don't respond the same way to training plus we don't all have the same goals. Once past the novice phase training has to be customized for the individual.

Quick Fact: Scientific Studies have proven that you can train main lifts at 90% and above every week when you rotate to different variations weekly or bi-weekly.
My Deadlift rotations right now are: Snatch Grip, Sumo, Conventional, Trap Bar. I train with at least 90% of my max for that lift every time it comes up in the rotation.
I have found that for me, the different lifts help build each other. The variety is also mentally and physically stimulating, which makes my training a lot of fun.

I am completely done with this narrow minded, sheep infested forum. For older more experienced lifters this place has nothing to offer.
For lifters that are really serious about strength training, Dan John's forum is the best on the internet.

    YouTube I'm confused.

I like this quote; this past weekend I saw the same two people who told me over a year ago, partial ROM bench press to allow you to handle heavier weights, works for strength gains! Guess what? they were still quarter pressing 135 and 145 (in the decline rack.)
