I’m just about back to where I was before I got sick, so I think the easy gains will run out soon I’m afraid.

    Squat: 45-315x5, 365x1, 405x1
    Deadlift: 245x5, 295x3, 345x1, 395x5
    Press: 140x5x5
    Pull-Ups: 7,6,6,6

I’ve been wondering how close to 4 plates I am. Probably should not have, but I tried it and got one incredibly hard (and ugly) rep out of it. It went below parallel and ended up on the hooks again so I’m calling it my 4 plate birthday today.

Deadlifts were more work than they have been. I’m sure I know why. 405x5 is coming...

Press went well. I think 5x5 works better for me. More frequency would probably be even better but things are moving so I’m not going to fuck with it any more (for now).

    Squat: 45-295x5, 340x3x5
    Bench: 45-185x5, 230x5x5

Still feel like shit from Wednesday. Mostly my back just feels weak. I used the belt for all the working sets today and it didn’t feel too bad.

    Press: 45, 95, 142.5x5x5
    Pull-ups: 10

I haven’t been eating or sleeping well lately and it’s starting to catch up to me. I really didn’t feel like working out today and it felt rough.

    Deadlift: 245x5, 335x3, 385x1, 405x5
    Bench: 45, 95, 135, 185x5, 232.5x5x5

What a day. Kids school cancelled due to cold. Internet was out most all day too. I guess it could be much worse, I could have been the charter guy out there fixing it. Not much to say about the workout other than it got done.

    Squat: 45-315x5, 350x3x5

Those were the most miserable sets of squats I’ve ever done. I got stuck on the last one for a bit. Called it quits after that. I keep thinking I can eat my way out of this but I may just be getting to the place where adding weight twice a week isn’t going to happen. I have all weekend to decide if I have the balls to add another 5 Monday.

I felt guilty all day for not finishing my workout yesterday. Also did some tricept extensions just to punish my arms for struggling to finish the last set of presses.

    Bench: 45-185x5, 225x3, 240x5,5,5,5,5

I must have needed a weekends worth of rest, and some big ass ribeye steaks. I feel way better today. Squats didn’t really feel heavy for the first time in a while. I checked...I did load the bar correctly.

I’ve come to realize that my way of noting weight x sets x reps isn’t consistent with the way it’s done around here. I’m not going to bother editing every workout but from now on I’ll use the stupid simple notation above.

ETA: Yikes, I misread my scribbles from the last bench session. Thought I did 237.5 and not 232.5. I tricked myself but I guess it worked. Maybe I need to do that more often.

    Light squats
    Deadlift: 245x5, 305x3, 365x1, 415x5
    Press: 45x5, 95x5, 155x3,3,3

A friend showed up so I had to cut it short and improvise just a little.

I had my wife watch and video my squats tonight. I’ve been feeling myself getting into my knees more than I should be, and weight forward on my feet. She quickly nailed it as my upper back not staying tight. It was pretty much fixed by the time I finished my last set. I need to send her to a seminar I guess.

Yesterday I was so sore I didn’t think I would squat today but I felt good lifting. +12.5 on the bench this week is nice, don’t care if it was an accident.
