Been at the same gym more or less for 15 years, and made eye contact, did the "hello" and smile thing with a bodybuilder who I've seen over the years. As I walked away, he said to his buddy "that guy is strong as fuck."

Not really anymore, but very motivating, thank you kind sir.

And with that, they announced the gym was closing at 5pm. Ok then. Been busy kayaking, gardening and hiking, new lifting shoes worked well today.

And with that, I am taking 3-6 weeks off. That was a nice consistent 4 months of working out, where I got back a good 70% of my past strength and avoided injury.

But, I am both feeling beat up slightly in ways that have presaged injury in the past, and losing my gym membership.

It has been a long, cold and wet winter. Looking forward to losing ten pounds, kayaking, motorcycling and hopefully, finally starting backpacking season in the snow.

That's the goal, true 210 bodyweight and lots of outdoor activities in 20-40 days, see you then.

Just a quick update for future me, I have stuck to my plan well. Watching what I eat in a mixed calorie count/intermittent fast paired with hiking 3-10 miles a day, 90-200 minutes. I peaked at 226 lbs maybe two weeks ago, so I have lost 11 pounds in that time, which makes sense; diet maths out to about 1-1.5 pounds a week, the hiking is almost 3. Your friends will tell you that you look good, my oldest friend told me I looked fat. Genuinely, thanks Mike.

Continuing to hike 5 to 10 miles a day, I've been mapping the future community forest for fun.

The nice thing about hiking is that it's a natural appetite suppressant. If I get overly hungry, I just go for a walk.
