Did some light pulls last night...just testing the waters for back pain. I also do not want these to affect the squats so we will see. Squats are the main lift I want to progress the most at this time and my back will only handle so much so it will be a balancing act.

Similarly, I find that it's a combination of squat and deadlift for me. Once the worksets for both get above a certain weight, every time I tie my shoes is a new adventure in hobbling out of the chair. I'm skipping in and out of that territory right now and am mulling over different options to work through it while keeping the lifts moving upwards. Quite a balancing act, indeed.
Great job an yet another PR, Fred!
Thanks Bill!
Things sound similar with the back stress except for the fact that I am 15 years older. I have to do the minimum to keep weights moving or I really feel it as far as energy levels. At this point I feel the need to squat more than once every 7 or 8 days or I would alternate squats and pulls once a week. Time will tell.
I totally understand. I look at the folks that are 15 years younger than me and keep being impressed. I do wonder what I would have done had I discovered this back then. But I was having a hell of a time "goofing off" in other ways. But, as you mention, now is the time to figure out the minimum effective dosing.
