I'm not one that likes to give training advice, but I've read in a book I have written for us "mature" lifters that a good idea is to "stabilize" at a weight for up to 4 workouts, tightening up on your form and owning that weight. I know its hard to do when the SS plan is linear progression, but stabilizing may be better than a reset. What are your thoughts?

It's been fun but the squat's have gotten harder and harder. I will adjust in someway to try to keep progressing even though it might not be adding weight every workout as NLP calls for.

You're one of the most consistent here; something to aspire to, must be doing something right.

Harder to recover when you're older, I'm finding. Today I feel like a truck hit me (2 days in a row).

Hopefully it was just a small truck!

But I know what you mean today both my hips are sore. I usually do not get sore from any of these workouts.

Jerry I briefly had a similar thought last month because of the increasing difficulty of progression but you have put it into words very well.

As the old saying goes " they're are many ways to skin a cat" .
I've seen here a page from Rips personnel training log book and he seems to be doing short workouts himself.

Ok...I meant where were you able to read Rips log. I should use quotes more....sorry.

But you are correct that there are many ways to train. I'm thinking about like you said and keep at the same weight until form is good enough before moving on.
