    Heavy Squat/Med DL/Pullups

    SSB squat w/belt - 375 x 3, 3, 335 x 5 x 4
    DL w/belt and straps - 375 x 5 x 3 (attempting speed - hah!)
    Pullups - BW + 25 x 10, 7, 5

Losing more strength due to the cut. Just going to try to keep holding the line as best I can...

    Heavy DL Day -
    DL w/belt and straps - 445 x 3, 3, 2
    SSB squat w/belt - 335 x 5 x 3
    Rows w/straps and 3" belt - 205 x 10 x 3

OMG - completely out of energy. Missed lunch yesterday and breakfast today. Worked out at about noon in a fasted state. Losing weight, but now I'm getting into the hard times...

    Yesterday - Track day -

Walked to local school track and did the following:
Walking lunges - 50m, walk half lap
Pushups - 50, walk half lap
Walking lunges - 50m, walk half lap
BW tricep extentsions (off a bench) - 50, walk half lap,
    100m dash, walk full lap x 3

100m dashes were tough - even though I was starting slow and increasing my speed to near max at the last 50m or so. One odd thing after each dash - my mid/upper back muscles were exhausted. Who knew that pumping the arms very hard in a dash would activate these muscles so thoroughly!

    6/13/21 -
    SSB squat w/belt - 280 x 9 x 4
    Bench - 210 x 9 x 4
    Pullups w/straps - (BW + 15) x 11

My son wanted to run the Smolov base mesocycle, so I'm going to run it with him. I'm going to run it using a very conservative 1RM for bench (300lb) and ssb squat (400lb), since I'm still kind of on a cut.
Not really worried about building muscle - just want to chew up a bit more body fat and want to train with my son. These days go fast - next thing I know he'll be long gone...

Stupidly continuing Smolov while on a cut...

    SSB squat w/belt - 300 x 7 x 5
    Bench - 225 x 7 x 5
    Pullups w/straps - BW+15 x 11

Worked out with my son, which was nice. He was playing lacrosse all Spring, so he has been lifting, but has lost some strength during the season. He really wants to hit it hard this summer. I'm going along for the ride. Ouch.

    SSB Squat w/belt - 320 x 7 x 5
    Bench - 235 x 7 x 5

I was a puddle of mush after this. My son got stronger as the workout continued. Difference between old and young man.

    starting strength coach development program
Missed logging some workouts. Here is from Saturday:

    6/25/2022-
    SSB w/belt - 360 x 3 x 5, 360 x 2 x 5 (25 reps total)
    Bench - 265 x 3 x 5, 265 x 2 x 5

Instead of triples for ten sets, I reduced that to doubles for the last 5 sets on bench and squat. Kept it do-able. My son made all the triples.
    Week 3 of Smolov begins...

    6/27/2022
    SSB w/belt - 310 x 9 x 4
    Bench - 225 x 9 x 4

Still surviving. Shortest of the smolov workouts, but lots of huffing and puffing.
