    SSB w/belt - 330 x 7 x 5
    Bench - 240 x 7 x 5

    7/1/22
    SSB w/belt - 350 x 5 x 7
    Bench - 255 x 5, 5, 5, 5, 5, 5, 4

Couldn't get the last rep on the last set of 5 - just like last week. At least it's consistent!

One more day of this bloodbath. I'm really sick of squatting!

SSB w/belt - tapped out during warmups. My left hip and right knee hurt and it wasn't getting better during warmups. I just hung out with my son while he did his ten triples.
Bench - 270 x 3, 2, 3, 2, 3, 2, 3, 2, 2 - No way I was going to get ten triples after yesterday. Just hanging on for dear life here. Meanwhile, my son's best set was his last (tenth). It's good to be young.

Well. I survived most of smolov. We'll see if it pays off later next week.

Weight loss continues. Happy to just be able to repeat last weeks set of 4 at 272.5. I thought about going for the 5th rep, but I think I had a < 50% chance of getting it - and even if I did, it would've been an epic grind. Just wasn't worth it in the context of weight loss.
I've switched to my son's single ply, 3" belt. My 4" belt, when tightened appropriately around my less expansive waist, now sticks into my lower rib cage and doesn't seem to offer as much support. I now understand why my son doesn't like using my 4" belt.

Down about 10 - 12 lbs and a belt loop. My 36" pants are feeling loose. So, I got that going for me. Also noticed my BP is down a bit. Now, it is almost always < 120/80.

    Yesterday - Testing max.
    Bench - 300 x 1 - 315 x F
    SSB squat w/belt - 400 x 1

I think I could've got 305 on the bench and 410 on squat if I'd played my cards right. But I just didn't really care about maxes any more after 3 long weeks of smolov. Just really sick of squatting.

My son got some PRs. He got a 290 bench and a 400 SSB squat. He tried for 300 bench, but it wasn't quite there. He was pretty happy about it.

    Today:
    SSB - beltless - 310 x 3 x 4
    Bench - 230 x 3 x 4 (paused last 2 sets)
    Rows w/belt and straps - 230 x 8 x 5
    Dips - BW+25 x 15, 15, 13

Now that I'm done with insane programming (for a 50 y/o man on a diet, that is), I looked around for something nice and reasonable for my situation. I was in Andy Baker's BB club for a couple years and saved all the programming he sent out. I found one that seemed a bit more aligned with my situation. I'll run that and see how it goes.
