    I just wrote an entire summary of my last year, and then the forum ate it. The one time I don't copy and paste...

    So I'll keep it simple this time. I'm Nick. I used to be super active, but haven't been on the forum in about 4 years. I kept lifting until June 2021 when I moved to Florida. Since then, life has been a real challenge. Turning the corner now though, so I have time that I can dedicate to training more seriously. My goals are to simply start regaining my strength and losing some weight along the way. Currently, I'm 263, which is right around where I settle when I don't train or watch what I eat. Goal is 240-245, which was me at my strongest. I can get down into the 220s, but I don't have the dietary discipline for that.

    September 5, 2022 (Day 1)

    Weight: 263

    Squat: 45x5x2, 95x5, 135x5x2

    Bench: 45x5x2, 75x5, 95x5x2

    Deadlift: 135x5x2

    That's it. I just wanted to move a little weight. My form feels just fine, but I'll video soon to make sure it's on point. I knew I would get DOMS even with this small amount of work (((I did, by the way))), so this was all I needed.

    Played 18 today. Walked with my push cart.

    Where'd I play? Country Club of Winter Haven.

    1st shot? Planned for a baby fade, ended up with a baby hook and it settled into the Bermuda rough left of the fairway.

    Then what happened? 8 iron from 130ish. I caught it a little thin and came up about 5 yards short of the green with a front pin.

    Did I get up and down? Nope. Sculled my pitch 40 feet past the hole, then three-putted for a 6.

    Turned out that was my worst hole of the day. Ended up shooting 83 with no more doubles or three putts.

    Back to the garage tomorrow.

    September 8, 2022 (Day 2)

    Squat - 45x5x2, 95x5, 125x3, 145x5x2

    Press - 45x5x2, 65x5, 85x5x2

    Dead - 135x5, 165x5

    Finished with five minutes of high speed rope, because I saw it sitting on my shelf and I was curious if I remembered how. I don't...

    Everything moving well. Took some vids, form looks great. Just need to shore up the diet and I'll be on my way.

    September 12, 2022 (Day 3)

    Squat - 45x5x2, 95x5, 135x3, 155x5x2

    Bench - 45x5x2, 95x5, 115x5x2

    Dead - 135x5, 185x5

    DOMS is starting to go away. Will go up to three work sets starting next session.

    Since you mention Florida I assume you are American. But on this occasion I am wondering if the weights are in pounds or kilograms. But that is not so important. The important thing is that you are back.

    Lbs. Yes, super weak. Basically starting over.

    September 15, 2022 (Day 4)

    Squat - 45x5x2, 95x5, 135x3, 165x5x3

    Press - 45x5x2, 75x5, 95x5x3

    Power Clean - Took myself through the teaching progression.

    I didn't feel too great today. Tuesday and Wednesday were very rough days mentally, so my sleep has been rough and that affected training today. Need to get my head straight and we'll get back to it.

    September 19, 2022 (Session 5)

    Squat - 45x5x2, 95x5, 135x5, 175x5x3

    Bench - 45x5x2, 95x5, 125x5x3

    Dead - 135x5, 205x5

    Felt a weird little tinge on my deadlift warmup set, so I put on my belt for the work set. The stability helped even though I didn't need it. I'm starting to realize I'm not as young as I used to be and may have to be more proactive in using knee sleeves, my belt, etc.

    Press - 45x5x2, 85x3, 105x5x3

    PC - Warmups from the hang, 65x3, 75x3x2, 85x3x3

    I'm discovering that I feel very intolerant to any type of pulling volume. Even with just two sets of light deadlifts on Monday I just don't feel right. It may still just be growing pains from getting back into the swing of things.

    September 27, 2022 (Session 7)

    Squat - 45x5x2, 135x5, 165x3, 195x5x3

    Bench - 45x5x2, 95x5, 115x3, 135x5x3

    Deadlift - 135x5, 215x5

    This was Tuesday morning. I had to get the hatches battened down for Ian, and then I lost power before I got to log it. Hurricane is passed and I had a bit of cleanup to do to get the garage back in shape. Next session will be next Monday.
