I wonder whatever happened to the OP, JCavin. Haven't seen him around the forums in some time.

I got recruited to be one of three (3) spotters for a dude 1/4 squatting 500lbs for a double... in rack with safety rails.

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means

    INCONCEIVABLE!

(It is a fairly common use of the word talent, btw)

See, in a situation like this, there's just no way I could keep my mouth shut. When he finished I would say something like "Oh, I thought you were going to squat that, all I saw was a few curtseys"...

I started at a new YMCA this week. One my first day, I was doing a set of standing cable ab pulldowns with the entire weight stack. This big, older guy comes marching over to me...

    Guy: "do you have google?"
    Me: "uh, yeah..."
Guy: "go home and google, 'ab workout'" and get a PROFESSIONAL workout plan. This isn't a REAL ab workout."
Me: "what makes you say that?"
Guy: (walking off, angry) "I don't have time to explain it to you!"
Me: "I have plenty of time to explain it to you, if you'd like..." (i.e. Louie Simmons recommends them).

I turned to one of the other lifters and shrugged. He goes, "dude, I hate that guy." I thought that it might just add some color to my YMCA experience.

But then... today the guy shows up again AND HE'S WEARING A BLUE YMCA STAFF T-SHIRT. DAMNNIT!

Someone at my gym today asked me if I was done squatting at the power rack. I said I was. Motherfucker went on to do bicep curls with the empty bar.
