When I walked into the Y I noticed this really jacked guy in the next squat rack. Upper body was swole, but his lower body had me thinking "Do u even Leg Day?" He had 405 racked and proceeded to do 8 reps of quarter, nay, one-eighth squats. He then loaded 505 on the bar. I was thinking OMG what's going to happen here. He unracked it, made the barest unlocking of the hip hinge motions for eight reps and re-racked. Then he stripped the bar and moved on to upper body work.

I don't know what's worse, curlbros with scrawny legs doing subtle-knee-unlocks with massive weights, or mastodons with behemoth legs doing subtle-knee-unlocks with 225.

I've never had an idiot trainer make up a lift, put me in a smith machine and use bumper plates, just to look at them, so I will say, no. Mine are not better.

As an SSC, your opinion is that I should get a session with that guy so we can do "rows" and assisted pullup leg presses? Welp, specialization is for insects.

Yes. But only because myself and the other SSC's will likely be amused by the story.

This would be a fun project. Everybody go out and get a free introductory training session at a globo gym. Plead ignorance and report results.
