    It's actually a couple comments from a jujitsu instructor that pushed me towards weightlifting. He really emphasized that provided both parties have a basic level of training, it always takes a disproportionately large amount of skill to make up for a difference in size.

    If you think about it, many combat sports have narrower weight classes than strength sports where performance is very directly related to bodyweight.
