    Thanks!
I'll admit that I had initial reservations about squatting heavy on a trapdoor (!) but the 3 layers of plywood makes it very sturdy and besides most of my soles are actually over the edge when squatting. Deadlift and cleans I do in front of the rack, its good to get out now and then.

I believe it should have read "on" the edge

After having time in with the set up would there be anything you'd do differently if you had it to do over again?

I am quite happy with the dimension and placement of the pit relative to the rack. I made sure that I could get my big feet directly under the bar when on the hooks.

One thing comes to mind though: If you have moisture problems, make some kind of ventilation for the bottom of the platform. I had a minor flood on the floor, and when I lifted the platform half a year later it smelled pretty bad from fungus!

That is very clever. I have had a client do the same.

That is a narrow stance though. I would be itching to move my feet wider!
