Well, it turns out that I have 2 sets of each. (Rack came with a pair of regular J-cups, which I forgot, I ordered another pair). I also ordered two of the sandwich pairs. At the time I was looking to mirror what my buddy did in his garage gym. That is, on the rear uprights, regular J-cups setup for bench and the sandwich cups above that for squat. Third set on outside of front uprights for press. Sounds like he must have arrived at the same conclusion as you for the bench J-cups.
I had to put my rack right up against the wall (master bedroom gym setup). Not enough clearance to get head into position for squats, so I have to squat from the front uprights. It was going to be convenient (since I had the extra j-cups) to leave a pair setup on the outside of the front uprights for press, but since these are at the same place as the squat, I just have to move them.
Before I pull the trigger on returning them, Anyone have favorite uses/suggestions for an extra set of J-cups?
Sounds like I'll keep both styles then. But maybe return one or two of the four.
Bill, Good idea. Just did that with the second set of regular j-cups. Looks like I'll just return one set of the sandwich cups. Can't see what I'd need a second set for at this point.
Ok for LTE if you put them on the outside of the rack.
