Any tips on cleaning rust off the starting strength rack and barbells? Recently set up in the gym after the rack lived in the driveway in the driveway in packaging during the winter. It has some surface rust.

    Thanks!

Brass or stainless steel wire wheel works pretty well. They make them as drill attachments or for angle grinders. Don't overdo it.

Sandflex Rust Erasers come in three grits. Medium would probably do the trick for light surface rust. Corse then medium might save you some elbow grease.

I use them on woodworking hand tools and for restoring old ones. At least for the tasks I've used them for they do a quicker job than wire brushes (but you need those sometimes to get into hard to reach spots).

Lee Valley Tools sells them as does Woodcraft.
