Hi there, so me and the other half are getting a home gym. Inquiring about used from one person, but also looking at a new set-up for £1,100 in total, including:
    -7ft Bar (thickness unspecified)+ 100kg Bumper Weights £400
-M210 Rack With Storage System and Spotters £350
    -Flat weight bench £70
    - Eight fractional plates 0.25kg to 1kg £40
    - 2 x 5kg bumper plates £70
    -2 x 25kg bumper plates £160

It's from a UK company I won't mention but they don't have a direct number to call about the barbell thickness which rings alarm bells. I'm looking to pay monthly over a few years so any recommendations on my choices of equipment and reputable UK retailers is appreciated.

    Many thanks,
    Ian

The strength shop is ok for most of this stuff.

I wouldn’t cheap out on the bar though. Get one from Rogue or Texas Power Bars.

If you’re going to be paying this off for years you don’t want to be buying it twice unnecessarily.

My home gym was from Strength Shop (rack, bumpers & bench) and Gym Revolution (ATX barbell). I’d recommend them both, particularly the latter if you’re anywhere near Bristol.

I didn’t rate the quality of Mirafit at all.
