Any welding shop could easily build what you are looking for cheap. What’s the medical bill going to cost if you drop a bar on your face?

But Ed’s correct, lifting alone outside a rack is dangerous, go get a decent rack.

They are on Craigslist all the time

Don’t know where in Europe you are, but I looked on Amazon UK and found this

VIAVITO PC1000 GT Power Cage : Amazon.co.uk: Sports & Outdoors

I have something like this from Amazon in the states. It works fine for me - under 300 lb squats. I dumped a 200 lb squat and it held up fine.

Just thinking you can easily spend this much trying to fix up what you have.

Maybe just get an inexpensive rack and keep your stand for pressing.

This would be a tolerably good rack. I'm not sure how the exchange rate works out. Note that the bottom rear cross-member of this rack is directly below the holes for the liftoffs so you'll have to be careful not to bump it with your foot when racking and unracking. But otherwise it seems like it should be just fine for most people through the end of their NLP and maybe a fair bit beyond. It's certainly an order of magnitude better than a set of sawhorses.

I was looking at the racks and also spotter stands that I think can help me. My goal is not to become a great powerlifter, but to work on strength for sports performance. So my aspiration would be at most to complete an intermediate level, although I don't know if completing the NLP would be enough.

    POWER RACKS:
VIAVITO PC1000 GT Power Cage : Amazon.co.uk: Sports & Outdoors
Good price. The downside is that they do not ship to Spain.

Good price too. The downside is that Titan Fitness doesn't ship internationally, although they told me they are looking into doing so in the future.

Although it is a little more expensive I could afford it. I think it is better than the other two in terms of features. Again the problem that Titan Fitness does not ship internationally.

Regarding the T2 and X3 series Power Rack, wouldn't it be better to change the pin bars or add to reinforce with this other type of safety bars?
    https://www.titan.fitness/racks/rack.../FDWNS_T3.html
It gives the feeling that they are more consistent and resistant. What do you think?

    POWER STANDS:
    https://www.titan.fitness/strength/s...ds/401475.html
    https://www.titan.fitness/sale/scrat...e/R430032.html
They are not saw horses. Both support a 700 lb. capacity. Couldn't they be worth it? Again the drawback is that Titan Fitness does not ship abroad.

This is all I have to choose from when buying to solve my problem with the squat. What limits me is no longer the price, but the commercial obstacles when making shipments. I am proposing the following solution. Try to find someone within the United States that I trust so he can find out the shipping costs. If it is feasible, I would ask him to buy the item and send it to me, paying him all the expenses. I can't think of doing it any other way.

If you are buying the T3, the flip down safeties would be nice but pin and pipe safeties are also just fine. I like those Titan bench press spotter stands. They would be a great *secondary* safety system for benching but they won't be useful when squatting. They will work worst when you need it most. If barbell loaded with three or four plates comes down hard and uneven, they are likely to tip over. I might actually buy a set and use them in lieu of my jerk boxes for a secondary safety system, but I wouldn't trust them as a primary.

Given your shipping cost issues, why not just find a local welding ship and have a Starting Strength rack made? https://startingstrength.com/files/s...ength_rack.pdf

Also, Texas Strength Systems, the makers of much of the SS equipment do ship internationally (but shipping an SS rack would be prohibitive) If you have the rack made, you can even have the shop make minor adjustments such as making the rack shorter so it fits in your garage or making the bottom cross-members bolt on so that it fits through a door.

There are companies that will let you order from Amazon and then they will reship to your address. But I have no familiarity with any of them and would be scared of scams.

I own the locking barbell holder from Kustom Kit (couldn't find one made here in the USA) and am happy with it. Says nothing about their squat stands, but I would feel safe using this one. Of course now we are talking twice the price, but I would feel *very* safe using this rack. I'd like to hear what others might think as the design is pretty clever

Very similar to the TSS model below

You could also eliminate the bottom cross members from the SS rack and just carriage bolt the uprights to the platform.

I don't know how much money that would save in fabrication. Would be interesting to get a quote. But might be a good economy option. Also, I believe, people have had modified versions of the rack made where the bottom cross-members can bolt on instead of being welded. This is useful if you have to get through a man door. They will fit through any overhead door but not man doors. One could get the rack fabricated with bolt holes for the bottom cross-members and use them to bolt the rack to a platform. If needs change, the bottom cross-members could be fabricated and added.

Also I think I pointed this out before but now that the pandemic is waning there is a lot of "hardly used" equipment available for cheap!
