I was going to ask anyone that. My presses are horribly weak, any suggestions?

I was going to switch to 5 sets of 3 and add some of the press ups Starr talked about from his article (press more than you can lock out as haigh as you can).
I find press and bench to be very highly correlated with recovery, much more so than DL and SQ, so irregularities there can really get you.

It also depends where you are failing. For me it was the lock out, so I started pressing 3x5 on monday, push-press 3x3 wed, bench 3x5 friday. If getting it off your shoulders is the problem then the Press ups may be better?

Push press helped my lock out and psychologically allowed me to feel heavier weight over head so when I picked up a heavy press I didn't psych myself out.

Also I did not use a belt for press and found while it is much more difficult to get used to using, once you figure out it is awesome. The trouble is your abdomen is changing size much more in the press than squat and dl, so you have to get it a bit tighter. Also it is easy to then not focus on staying tight. I know I don't need to tell you the benefits of a belt though

I have the hardest time at the bottom and my abs are always rocked from overhead presses. I get very lighted while pressing. I may start to belt up for them and see what happens.

Oh yeah, use the belt for sure on your presses. I find it about as helpful for them as it is for the squat, which in my case is pretty damn helpful.

Yeah, once I got the hang of belted press it made a huge difference. I went from constantly stalling ~135lbs, to in a few weeks getting 145x5x3 pretty solidly with room to continue linear gains

I gave up on working out on Saturdays, kids never let me make it to the gym.

My boys are 3 and 8 so they keep me busy on the weekends. I only can keep a consistent schedule if I go during the week before work. I'm starting back this week after hurting my back and adductors on my last set of deads when I was doing madcow. I'm going to start up CFFB again tomorrow and see how I feel. I should be able to come down in a week or so. I'll let you know though. When are you heading to OH to meet with Jay?

Also was wondering any reason you're going with 5/3/1 as your core program over going back to CFSB or CFFB? I'm still thinking of wendlers program too. Just curious on your thoughts.
