I was pretty exhausted from driving to MI the previous day, so I'm not upset about not being 100%. But I did pull something in my lower back in the warmups to the pin squats, and THAT might be a problem. It's really sore right now, so I'll have to see how I recover in the next couple of days. If I feel good I'll move on to the squat workout (probably reverting to 3x5 instead of 531); if not, I'll do a 3x5 press day and start the cycle afresh.

My back is recovering, but not recovered yet. I thought it wiser to skip the squats for today and cycle around to 3x5 press. Deadlifting on the 26th will be the real test.

Not surprising that I couldn't get the 5th. Given the crap polygonal plates and the bar's resulting tendency to wander around the floor I had to reset my feet for every rep. I also pulled up with a sore right oblique during power-clean warmups. It's still sore. Other than that, the back has recovered pretty well, so it might be a new injury. Man, I can't wait to get back to the home gym.

Yep, I really screwed myself up deadlifting with the poly-plates. I must have been picking some of them up without being squared up properly and really pulled something on my right side. After a week of doing nothing but walking like Gumby I got back to the home gym last night (thank God) and had a nice, normal workout.

I didn't really squat in the 2 weeks I was away from home, so I've lost a bit here. Before the break I had 7 reps at 355. I got all of the backoff volume, so I should be back up to snuff in a week or so.
