Thursday 6/9/16
squat:
3x305
3x350
2x390 (miss)
3x5x350
rdl: 2x8x325
I probably had enough in the tank to grind up the 3rd rep at 390 if the form had been good, but it got forward a bit and I couldn't get it back in the groove in time. The first 2 had better form & depth than last cycle. The backoffs were tough, but my form gradually improved; the last set was the most solid.

Sunday 6/12/16
press:
5x173
3x196
0x219
1x219 (p.r.)
185: 5/5/4 (backoffs; hit the ceiling, literally, on the last set)
weighted chins @ 32.5: 5/5/5/5/5
It will be in the mid- to high-90s today, so we lifted in the morning. It went pretty well, that considered. I should stand a skosh wider on the press so that I don't hit the beams in the shed again.

power-clean:
3x135
3x155
3x175
2x185
3x0x205 (wheels keep on spinning 'round)
deadlift:
5x385
3x440
1x490
0x500 (just missed; got it over the knees)
rows: 2x8x290
I think I've about had it with the power-cleans. They're fun, but at these weights my time would be better spent on something else. I have a trip coming and a week and a half off from the weights. When I get back I may make minor tweaks to the program or a major overhaul. I've been running 5/3/1 for over 2 years and gotten some decent gains out of it, but everything is stalling. I'm considering a run at HLM when I get back. We'll see.

Thursday 6/16/16
pin squats: 1x330/330/335 (5 to 10 above what I did last cycle; pin squat weights can and should go up)
bench:
5x248
3x281
1x315
3x5x267
My pin squat weights have been lighter than they should be. I'm starting to push them up.

Sunday 6/19/16
squats:
5x325
3x370
1x415
0x425 (miss p.r. attempt)
3x5x350 backoff
rdl: 2x8x325
The 425 attempt was close: I got a bounce at the bottom, but didn't have the form quite dialed in enough to grind it up. Nerts.

--- transition day ---
squat: 3x5x280 (80% of 350 backoffs)
press: 3x5x185 (normal 5/3/1 backoff)
chins: 10/10/10/10/10
I'm about to go on vacation and will be starting HLM when I get back, after 3+ years on 5/3/1. Sunday was a heavy squat day, so it made sense to treat this as the light day and test out some weights. I used the 80% backoff numbers for the sets across and calculated the percentages from there. I also supersetted the first 3 chin sets with the squats, so there was a long gap between the 3rd and 4th chin sets. As a result, I got tens across for the first time.
When I return and start up HLM I think I'll add an additional 5-10% deload to get a running start at it.
