Thanks gents. The easy work under the bar has been done. Now I need to hone my mental game.

    GFB #5-8 (reps/sets)

    Squat - 122.5kg 2x5
    Paused Bench - 80.5kg 2x6
    Deadlift - 160kg 2x5

    Belt Squat - 75kg 8x4
Triceps Ext - green band 12x3
    Mid Cable Row - 55kg 8x3

Tough day. The Block Pulls Thursday fried my back. Had to really drop the weight on the Squats, and Deads. Poor plate math had me doing too much on the Bench, but I'm happy with the work here.

Need to up my food intake and get more rest. Off tomorrow.

    GFB #5-9 (reps/sets)

    Squat - 160kg x1, 145kg 2x3
    HiBar Squat - 125kg 3x3

    Belt Squat - 85kg 8x3
    Back Ext - 15kg 8x3
    Wide Grip Pull Down - 60kg 8x3
    Rev Flys - 25lbs 8x3

160 is another PR, though it might have gotten red lights. Based on how Saturday felt and the fact that I forgot to put the clips on the bar and almost dumped all the plates when I first walked it out, I'm confident in hitting 160 at proper depth. Coach will more than likely make me repeat it next week.

    Two weeks to go...

    GFB #5-10 (reps/sets)

    Bench - 95kg x1 PR, 80.5kg 2x4
    Close Grip Bench - 75kg 3x3

    Incline Dumbell Press - 45lbs 10x3
    Dumbell Press - 40lbs 6x3
    Dips - +18lbs 10x3
Triceps Pull Downs - green band 15x3

Finally nailed 95kg, for the PR! It was slow at transition, but never in doubt.

I'm finally getting more confident with this lift. One more heavy session, 97.5kg next week. I'm close to the goal I set for this meet.

    Thanks Oldster.

Had a slight dip in confidence last week, but I'm rebounding. The mental game is a funny thing...

    GFB #5-11. (reps/sets)

    Deadlift - 212.5kg X, 170kg 2x4
    Block Pulls - 180kg 4x4

    Wide Grip Pull Ups\Downs - bw/50kg 8x3
    Cable Mid Rows - 50kg 8x3
    Sit Ups - bw 25x3

What a bad session. Couldn't even break 192.5 of the ground, so I never even got to attempt 212.5.

I'm tired and coming up to the end of this peaking cycle. It's been a long five months. Coach isn't terribly concerned, as I'm well past all previous PRs on all three lifts. I'm not gonna run around like my hair's on fire - I'm 62, and I've worked my ass off. I'm allowed to be tired!

    GFB #5-12 (reps/sets)

    Squat - 137.5kg 2x5
    Bench - 81kg 2x6
    Deadlift - 170kg 2x5

    Belt Squat - 75kg 8x4
    Revs Flys - 30lbs 8x3
    Dips - +18lbs 10x3
    Cable Mid Rows - 55kg 8x3

OK, it's all mental from here to the meet.

One last heavy single for each lift and then cruise into Orlando. Everything looked good today, no struggles.
My hips feel reasonable, my shoulders as well. My hands are still sore, but feeling better than they have for a while. I was able to pull 160kg double overhand, something I haven't been able to do for a few weeks. I'm able to gauge how I'm feeling based on my grip strength, so it's nice to see this come around as we close in on the meet.

    GFB #5-13 (reps/ sets)

    Squat - 155kg x1, 140kg 2x2
    Belt Squat - 80kg 8x4

    Beck Ext - 15kg 8x3
    Rev Flys - 30lbs 8x3
    Pull Ups - bw 8x3
    Wide Grip Pull Downs - 50kg 8x3

Sooooo, 155kg was all I could muster. I'm tired. Let us hope that "recovery/adaptation" occurs over the next two weeks.

That said, if I can Squat 155 feeling like crap and without knee sleeves (I forgot to put them back in my bag after airing them out), I'm comfortable with where I am.
