Woohoo! Looking forward to your results.

    2/5/18

    FMP 4-9 (reps/sets)

    LB Squat - 152.5kg x2, 132.5kg 2x4
    HB Squat (paused) - 115kg 3x4
    Belt Squat - 85kg 6x3

    Mid Row - 62.5kg 8x2
    Back Ext - +10kg 10x2
    Pull Up - +6kg 8x2

Top set was good for three without a major grind. My meet PR is 155kg, so I'm in a good place...amazingly enough.

I got a bit crazy in the head last night. I got it into my head that I've been a slacker prepping for this meet. Which led me to the conclusion that I'll shit the bed next Saturday. Round and round I went into the wee hours of the night, kind of like those dreams that you have about showing up for a college exam for a course you never attended.

Anyway, I had to reach out to one of my training partners for some reassurance / positivity. I let my coach know as well. Both parties helped to get my head straight. I accepted the fact that the top set was gonna be heavy and just got after it. When all was said and done, it wasn't that bad.

Just shows to go, that your head can play strange tricks on you if you let it.

I had a dream last week that the car I was driving had no brakes. I woke up before I knew the ending with my heart pumping like crazy.
As far as the weights go, I was told it's supposed to feel heavy. Good luck at the meet.

Yeah, I've had that dream too. No brakes, airborne into a barrell roll...waking up in a pool of sweat, heart pumping. Good times...

I don't think there are many slackers who squat 340 pounds! I bet you'll clean up at that meet.

    2/7/18

    FMP 4-10 (reps/sets)

    Bench (paused) - 90kg x2, 80kg 2x5
    Wide Grip Bench - 77.5kg 4x3

    Dumbbell Press - 45lbs 5x3
    Dumbbell Bench - 50lbs 10x2
    Dumbbell Incline Bench - 50lbs 10x2

    Pull Ups - +6kg 10x2
    Dips - +12kg 10x2
    Tricep Pull Downs - 17.5kg 10x2

Bench was OK. I have an issue where, when I brace hard, I cut off blood flow to my head. This issue popped up on the first rep, and almost cost me the second rep. If I can keep a clear head, I think I'm good for 97.5kg.

    Everthing else was snappy.

Good looking session, BD! Those dips are coming right along I see.

Whew. At least it wasn't something serious!

    starting strength coach development program
    2/8/18

    FMP 4-11 (reps/sets)

    Deadlift - 207.5kg X, 170kg 1x3, 180kg 1x3

    RDL - 120kg 8x3
    GHR - bw 8x3

    Mid Row - 65kg 8x2
    Pull Ups - bw 8x2
    Revs Fly - 30lbs 8x2
    Straight Bar Curl - 50kg 10x2

A few days accumulation of poor sleep, caregiver issues and brain lock equals a stuck to the floor Deadlift. The warm-up went smoothly through 192.5kg, but the jump to 207.5kg was too much for little ol' me...today.

Looking back at my log books, I hit the same wall a week prior to competition. Coach wasn't terribly concerned, as he noted that I hit PR's for the Squat and Bench this week.

Regular Saturday work coming up and then a light week with Openers going into the meet next Saturday.
