    The Road Back rep/sets
    Cycle Three / Week Two

    Dead Stop Deadlift - 135kg *6
    DS Deads - 115kg 6*2
    Tempo Down RDL - 95kg 8*3
    Glute Ham Roller - 15*3
    Dead Bug - 60 sec *3
    Tempo Down Dips - +8kg 5*3
    Tempo Down Hammer Curls - 50lbs 5*3

Just exhausted, mentally drained...no sleep the last few nights. I was forced to stay within the assigned RPE due to the fatigue. That, and the fact that my back is still a little "tight".

Performing these pulls from a dead stop is extra taxing as well. It's extremely fatiguing to have to set up properly for each rep. Which is why I normally do these lifts "touch and go", it also allows me to keep my back in extension easier doing T&Gs. But we must suffer for the "cause".

    Cycle Three / Week Two

    LBS - 100kg 6*3
    B - 70kg 6*3
    RDL - 110kg 10*3
    Cable Mid Row - 110lbs 15*3
    LTE / Curl - 32.5kg 15*3

Nice Saturday session. Gym opens officially Monday. Lot's of rules and regulations in place to keep the guvn'r happy.

As opposed to a face mask, I get to wear a face shield. Luckily I already have one that I wear occasionally for Squash (when I forget my goggles).

Have you trained in the face shield yet? I ask because I've gone back and forth between a disposable paper mask, and a bandana. I'd be curious if your shield inhibits exhaling as much as a mask. That's the challenge for me: it's not so much being able to breathe IN, it's not being able to freely breathe out.

From the standpoint of being able to breath freely, the shield works wonderfully (which raises the question: are they truly protective devices? But NYS says they're approved, and I know the powers that be have voluminous stacks of research that proves their worth /s). I've worn a shield to play Squash, and I can't imagine that the oxygen exchange demands of powerlifting are in excess of the demands of Squash.

The biggest issue is the fact that I sweat like crazy and the headband get soaked quickly so sweat gets directed into my eyes, necessitating me taking the masks on and off constantly...what happens if the Dept of Health sees me in non compliance...oh noes!

I figure that we'll be wearing these things for a month or so, or until the DoH inspects our facility...certainly no later than 11/4/2020.

The weightlifters are jealous, because they can't wear a shield during C&Js and Snatches...powerlifting FTW!

    The Road Back rep/sets
    Cycle Three / Week Three

    LBS - 117.5kg *6
    LBS - 100kg 6*2
    Goblet Squat - 20kg 20*3
    Wide Grip Pulldown - 100lbs 15*3
    Dead Bug - 60sec *3
    Hammer Curls - 70lbs 10*3

Gyms are officially open in NYS, so all the gang is back together. It's nice to have the community back under the same roof physically!

Pretty good top set, had another two or three reps available...a couple of reps were questionable, but on balance - a good day.

Humid as all get out. I'm gonna miss the AC in the old gym, but that's the only thing. This new location is only minutes from where I live. Additionally, the owner has invested in a lot of new equipment - such a deal!

    The Road Back rep/sets
    Cycle Three / Week Three

    Bench - 82.5kg *6
    Bench - 70kg 6*2
    1 Arm Dumbbell Bench - 60lbs 10*3
    Dumbbell Press - 40lbs 10*3
    Palof Holds - #7 45sec *3
    LTE / Curls - 32.5kg 15*3

Who'd a thunk that my Bench would come back faster than anything else? I may have made that statement before, but wow...

It's still a poverty Bench, but I'm OK with this lift a the moment.

    Deadlift - 125kg 6*2
    Tempo RDL - 105kg 8*3
    Glute Ham Roller - 20*3

And we we're back to 100% humidity today. You couldn't get enough chalk on your hands to make a difference...

Back feels almost 100%, but I'm still going to be judicious in the amount of weight I'm pulling through the end of this cycle.

Tired and winded all day long...
Got to see one of our 84+ ladies Squat a solid 190kg for 4. That got my mind right...for 105kg (smfh). Oh well, gotta have goals people!

    The Road Back rep/sets
    Cycle Three / Week Four

    LBS - 122.kg *6
    LBS - 107.5kg 6*2
    Goblet Squat - 24kg 20*3
    Wide Grip Pulldown - 110lbs 15*3
    Dead Bugs - 60sec *3
Straight Bar Curl - 30kg 30/20/15 on the minute

Top set was hit and miss. I thought the reps were good, but Shakira was wrong: THE HIPS LIED!
My hips were a little tight and never really got warmed up...wadda ya gonna do?!?!

That said, it's a nice way to end this cycle. The weight didn't feel heavy and I was able to really lock everything down prior to descent.

    The Road Back rep/sets
    Cycle Three / Week Four

    Bench - 85kg *5 (supposed to be 6)
    Bench - 72.5kg 6*2
    1 Arm Dumbbell Bench - 50lbs 12*3
    Dumbbell Press - 40lbs 12*3
    Palof Holds - #7 45 sec *3
    Dips - +8kg 5*3
    Chin Up - bw 5*3
    Hammer Curl - 70lbs 5*5 minute rest

Doesn't take much to miss a Bench set. A really bad nights sleep and life stressors got the best of this set. On the bright side of things, if I can do 5 at 85kg with all the things weighing on me...I'm OK with it!

Had to drop the 1 Arm dumbbell to 50lbs, 60lbs wasn't going anywhere safely.
