    Gentlemen,

Thank you for you thoughts on the matter. Upon reflection, you're all correct.

Which leads me to a minor epiphany: I've been chasing the "old me" for two years, trying to "make it happen". I think that I'm capable of getting back to my previous PRs, if not better. However, for that to happen I have to be willing to listen to my body.

My injuries in Year One were due to the stress from the Cancer treatments (and other things). My injuries this past Year Two, have been due to pushing a little too hard at the wrong time in a training cycle.

I'm committed to not redlining my lifts. In other words, if the day allows for more weight on the bar - great. If the day hands you lemons - I'll make lemonade.

I've had Austin in my ear about "less being more", and watching his progress this past year is proof that this approach works. My coach has been working to dial in this type of programming, I just need to communicate better. Too often I've not been completely honest as to my fatigue factor on some days...especially off the floor.

God willing, I'll to hit 70 y/o (three years away). I have goals of being a very competitive Raw Masters 4...before the really strong guys show up. That's a two to three year window before David Ricks shows up...LOL. I think I can accomplish this by letting the training come to me, rather than me to it...if that makes sense to y'all.

    Paused 2 Board - 70kg 3*2
    Dumbbell Bench - 50lbs 12*3

The bigger news is I weigh 206lbs at the moment. I've never weighed 205 before! I've been working for years to get my weight up...it's hard as I hate to eat, and I have the metabolism of a shrew.

    2022 starts with a PR!

I understand the "all back" thing. Last time I tried a heavy for me DL, I got a comment " nice SLDL". They used say say hips low, dip and rip at the gym when we DLed.Now it seems they want hips high. Tough lift if you have long legs.

I've always been more of a "back" deadlifter, than a "leg drive" deadlifter. However, with the knee issues, I turned into a SLDLer.

As my knee has improved I'm more or less able to get into a normal (for me) position. What I need to focus on is creating tension prior to the pull.

If only I could bottle my 500lbs pull from 2019...sigh...

That 500 may be on your want list but look at what you have done since and survived...That takes strength!

And didn't you just pull 195kg *2 one week ago?

I don't know many of us on that wouldn't love to pull that or anything close!

Also you might not be fully recovered from that pull...that was a lot of weight.
