Thanks guys! I'm glad I can provide some inspiration. There are always plenty of negatives too - but dwelling on them doesn't fix the problems. It also helps that I usually write in here just after having eaten my lunch. A pound of beef & two servings of brown rice and veggies will put a smile on almost everyone's face!

    Doing some good things nonetheless.

    Curls: 95x5, 115x5, 140x3, 145x3, 150x3, 150x2, 130x7, 105x12; PRs - 3RM, 3RM, 12RM.

    Time: 45 minutes
    BW: 256.5 lb.

Today didn't start off feeling like a great day for weightlifting (due to a variety of reasons), so I went anyway. Presses would have been awful, so I curled. After futzing around with some warmups, I got a new 3RM at 145. A few minutes later, I thought it wouldn't hurt to try 150. And I got it! Things are moving in the right direction. Doing heavy curls with some lean back wasn't the best for a lumbar strain (earned while deadlifting), but today needed some fun lifting, and fun PRs fixed it up.

After not pressing for a while, I guess it will be a way to test the dumbbell pressing experiment. We'll see how that goes next week.

I like that this is an entire log entry about curls. That's epic. How big are the guns?

Thanks! I'm almost at 18". If they get too big, I'll have to start working on my neck and calves so everything matches...

Don't forget to maintain the thigh to bi ratio. 1.5 is ideal.

    A quick one.

    Deadlifts: 135x5, 225x3, 275x1, 295x15, 310x10

    Rows: 190x10, 210x6, 230x4

    Time: 40 minutes
    BW: 256.5 lb

Not too strenuous, but every rep was solid. All deadlifts were pulled from a dead-stop, with attention to a solid setup for each rep. The reduction in weight I did for the high rep deadlifts (down to ~50% 1RM) may have been a little drastic, but I wanted to make sure I was conservative in rehabbing the pull from 11/24. So far, so good.

    Ah, Bro Day.

    Bench: 135x5, 225x5, 275x1, 295x5, 315x3, 335xF, 265x8, 245x8,5,1; PRs - 5RM, 3RM, 8RM

    Curls: (140x4)x3, (140x3)x4

    Time: 59 minutes
    BW: NM

I had a nice hour and a half dead-to-the-world nap before training today. Highly recommended. No video evidence of the lifts, unfortunately. Sometimes, going into the house to hunt around for the camera would kill the vibe.

According to a recent poster in Rip's Q&A, you can get to a 250lb bench without even pressing! Imagine that.

    Stay strong, folks.

I concur. When there's time I always do this on Sundays.

For a while I always seemed to forget something or the other. The camera, the battery, the memory card, the tripod attachment... now it's part of my mental checklist before heading to the garage.

Awesome PRs! Yesterday, I got in a great nap before squats and pulls--just what was needed. Nothing better on the weekend than the dead-to-the-world nap, in fact.

    Thanks guys!

So here is a bit of knowledge I learned after training today. I usually eat a bowl of cereal after a training session. It is easy - dump the cereal in, pour milk on top, shovel into face. Well, it is Christmastime, so egg nog is available. Egg nog is great. REALLY great. Even though you might think it to be a great idea - don't eat the bowl of cereal with eggnog instead of milk. The first few spoons are epic. FAT KID HEAVEN. And then you have an entire bowl to eat. Woof. Not quite as epic as it sounds.
