I love calisthenics... I have a VERY! crappy Stamina 1690 power tower, pretty awesome Z-FO 60 lb Vest, 170lb SandBag, Spud Inc Dip Belt & a home made pull up bar... also an Olympic Barbell that I keep on the floor that I use for squats and overhead pressing.. The barbell is actually 41lbs but I usually throw two 2.5lb plates on it to make up the difference... I don't have a squat rack. On squats I usually wear my 60lb vest for weight combinations to make up for any lost weight that I cant get overhead... My max overhead press so far is 180 x 2 & 190 x 1... I plan to break a BW overhead press for triples or nickles by the end of the year... I weigh 185-190lbs... Ive been training since I 2001 but didnt get serious until early April 2012... I usually bang out every M W F... I'm not really worried about becoming an elite squatter... but Id love to become an elite Military Presser... any advice is greatly appreciated. I would really love to learn more about 5/3/1. I still don't understand it... My other training logs can be found at the links below

I assume that you want to press more than 210 to be elite; mid 50s rip was pressing over 200. Are you going for 300+ ?
yeah... I usually do dips @ 60lbs + using the spud belt or 60lb vest... and 60lb push ups with vest. I was well over 100lbs earlier this year on dips and pull ups but lately I've toned it down and added volume... but yeah... I'm up for a rack but forget being an elite squatter... the way I see it is along as you can squat BW or 225lbs x 10 then your fine... I can do this without a rack using clean and push presses transition to front/back squat... now on the other hand the Military Pressing is different... Id love to be an elite presser ... Cranking your BW or More than your BW for reps is beyond awesome and IMO far more noble than squatting 500lbs. Why do I need to squat 500lbs? I'm not a line backer so what's the point. For men The MP is the true test of strength. IMO elite military presser = pressing 10-25lbs over bodyweight for triples STRICT. and nah I'm not trying to join the 300lb club... just BW to 25lbs over for triples and maybe even a nickel. Would you please review my w/o logs and give me some advice on increasing my MP... I was doing 54321 and 321 waves earlier this year and I managed to strict press 180 x 2 190 x 1 at a BW of around 185-188lb maybe... for a while the 321 waves seemed to really be working but then I started fooling around with a sand bag and neglected barbell training and it seems like instead of odd objects increasing my press it actually decreased it... or maybe I just wasn't de-loading properly... also I'm considering 5/3/1... would you please explain it to me. the 5/3/1 reminds me of rocket science.. and which is better between 321 wave and 5/3/1 for increasing MP

I was watching Cross Fit Games and the guys were doing "Fran" so I figured that if I got in a few sets of thrusters and some pull ups then Id be set for the day.. anyone who can do 20 straight thrusters @ 135lbs is a beast. Later today I may try to do "Grace"
