thanks for sharing this Clay. It is basically bi-weekly progress, right? I had wondered how that could work as a intermediary step to monthly programming or as a kind of older guys intermediate program. Seems like it is working well!
I am going to try triples on volume day this week.
Schedule and illness screwing with me so I decided to do the whole week today. Don’t go nuts, I says to myself - and that’s when I went nuts.
Press: PBR 205x1, PBR 207.5x1, b/o165x8 (8RM PBR?)
Squat: 445x1 (What? That felt really easy? That’s because it was 425.)
PBR 445x1, b/o 365x1 (Nope. I knew I was done after the single.)
db Bench: 90’s x5,8,8,8
Deadlift: 425x1, PBR 445x1
Music: Misc. Hall of the Mountain King by Savatage is a great tune. (Not to be confused with the similarly named bit from Peer Gynt Suite by Grieg - which is also great. Here’s a pretty cool cover: http://youtu.be/O_cWfRVHAkQ.)
PBR Video soon
PL Total: 1150
Nice work, Clay. Getting into the 400s is a BFD.
Polka for deadlift? Hey if it works! Nice lifts.
The Santa Rampage ended at a Polka bar. I must have still been fired up from that.
Good work.. Steadily making good progress.m
Had some time this morning since I found out last night I’m starting work at 2:30pm. My clients have no regard for life outside the two days of work I’m doing for them.
Power Clean: 165x1 (bah!), 165x3, 165x3, 165x3, 165x3, 165x3
Barbell Rows: 205 - 3x5+ (if I don’t run out of time)
Press: 167.5 - 5x5
Squat: 375 - 5x3
~10% reset on both lifts. They both felt good.
Music: Me First and the Gimme Gimmes. Can’t get enough right now.
