    Age: 42
    Weight: 225-230
    Diet: Food (-wheat/gluten)
Supplements: Creatine, Whey Powder w/BCAA, L-glutamine, and other fancy stuff.
    Program: Texas Method (mostly)

I was previously on 5/1 (Karl's Method). I think the reason I had trouble on that program was that 95% of 90% of my calculated 1RM was very close to my actual 1RM. I started replacing the 531 week with a deload week and added accessory work in the form of more pressing and benching. The squat progressed well, but the presses lagged. Progress on the bench sucked ass.

I'm giving TM a 6 month run and see how I progress.

    Previous Log: http://startingstrength.com/resource...ad.php?t=37495

I started lifting at the age of 40 because my back was completely screwed up. My Linear Progression was a mostly awful experience. I broke my arm a few weeks into it and started over with a 6# medicine ball. I also continually hurt my back.

What saved me was attending a seminar. I train at home; self coached. I read the books, but I didn't comprehend the material. The platform coaches immediately saw that what I thought was a straight back was actually hyperextended. They showed my how to lift properly within minutes. I haven't had back problems since.

I'm mostly German, but The Kraut Tank didn't have the right ring to it.

The old title was accurate for about 12 weeks. This one should have more staying power.

    * As usual, my chins suck. The first 3 go well, then on the forth my body says, "Hey, what the f... Knock it off." I got one set of 5 and made the rest in lesser sets to a total of 30.

Music: Made a new Pandora station based on Helloween and found bands like Iced Earth, and Falconer.
