Well a lot has transpired since I last had a log in the SS section seven or so years ago. Now living NE of Houston, relocating from just north of Seattle three years ago. I question the move just about every day, but so life goes, until I find the opportunity to move back.

Just moved to TM 4-day split this week after a bit of heavy-light advanced novice type programming. Probably premature, but combined with age and mentoring a high school robotics team, it feels appropriate. Reset the bench just a bit as it was really slowing, and I was having some issues with the left arm not accelerating the bar as well as the right arm. Hopefully this reset will allow me to push through the 190 sticking point I was at.

I am currently targeting my first PL meet on October 17, the Houston Fall Classic (USPA). It takes place one week before my 49th birthday. A Geezling for now, not quite Geezoid IAW Geezer Taxonomy: http://startingstrength.com/resource...ad.php?t=24890

Currently I'm at 6'0", 207 lbs. Here goes...

    Squat, volume, 250x5x5

Had to take son to doctor - sinus infection - so no accessory this evening. Planned day off (PDO) tomorrow.

    2/11/2015 Wednesday

    Bench press, intensity, 170x5
    OHP, light, 105x5x3
    Chins, +5 lb, 3x3

Chance to use new Harbinger polypro dip/chin belt. Eventually the weight will be heavy enough to actually provide a decent evaluation. Hard to find any issues with only 5# hanging there.

    Squat, intensity, 285x5
    DL, 295x5

Obviously light-to-no accessory work this week. With a routine change, I didn't want to add too much to the mix. Will be adding tricep extensions and BB rows over the next couple of weeks. PDO tomorrow except maybe BW chins. Saturday sprints?

    2/16/2015 Monday

    Squat, volume, 255x5x5
    BB rows, 95x5x3

Squats somewhat tiring first two sets, then I settled in and the last three sets went just fine. Not sure why I only did 3x5 rows; need to be up around 10-12, so will bump up next week. PDO for Tuesday.

    OHP, 110x5x3
    Chins, +5 lb, 3x4

Bench reps went well except for being shaky, literally, at the top. Never felt like I was going to drop anything, just had the shakes at full extension. Still noticed left arm not accelerating upward as fast as the right. Broke focus to notice that my left wrist/hand had bent back, straightened it, and the last rep went a little better. Really need to work on keeping the hands straight so that I can maintain go bar drive. OHP went just fine, as did chins.
